Huge news out of Cologne on access to data as ruling upheld. See link https://lnkd.in/eUnriziB Carlos Brito, CEO of Belron*, commented: "Access to a vehicle’s data stream via the OBD port is essential to workshops all across Europe, and today’s ruling protects the ability for independent service providers to continue working without incurring unwanted hindrance or costs. This is a principle that Belron will continue championing." #accesstodata #automotive #supportaftermarket

Fully agree with the statement of Mr. Brito. Our partners (over 120 Remote Service Providers all over Europe) and our end-customers (mostly independent workshops all over Europe) are struggling with this issue at a daily base. This despite the fact that the EU 'Right-to-repair' Directive 2018/858 is very clear on what should be available and what not, under which conditions. Keep-up the fight for access to data! (although the link doesn't work - small dissatisfier!)
