I help creative business people find their voice to build their community. I’m also the Thursday newsletter paperboy 🗞

People won't feel left out when they know others are on their side. Yet, feeling left out persists, particularly when it comes to live work events. Cliques, hierarchy, ignored contribution and our own social anxiety mean it's easier to step aside and say, 'not for me.' This is something I've experienced from talking to people who are heading down next week for You Are The Media Creator Day. 200 people in the theatre and this year the shift is about active participation. It's understandable to feel a bit nervous. Normally, when it comes to organising an event, the emphasis is on the presenters who people pay attention to. What if we flipped that and paid attention to each other? This means the focus shifts: 🌥️ You do it for people, not to them ✏️ You allow people to feel involved 🏆 People are given status 🎤 You build warmth No one needs to feel on the sides. We can create spaces where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and ultimately, close to each other. Looking forward to getting everyone to Lighthouse - Arts and Entertainment | Poole and a work day in the theatre #InPoole

Really love this Mark Masters, it's a great way to bring people together and feel confident that they can leave any reservations about in-person events behind.

I'm really looking forward to this event, it'll be my first time at one of your events but I know I'll be made to feel welcome and know a few people who are coming too. Being part of the WhatsApp group has really helped me feel included and part of things 😊

Looking forward to this Mark Masters. I've loved being part of the build up via the What's App Group. It's going to be my first BIG event in a while, so I'm feeling a nervous excitement as the day approaches.

Great to catch up earlier Mark Masters - looking forward to next week!

Good words Mark. It’s so important to hold space, generate trust, and create open offers for people to step into as participants. The theatre is the perfect place to do that.
