How long did it take for you to get your first full time job after you graduated college? I've spoken to some students over the years who've expressed their disappointment because they were graduating on a Friday or Saturday and NOT working by Monday. Oftentimes, though, you'll have a gap of days, weeks, maybe several months, before you enter the working force. I graduated law school in May. I filled out several dozens of applications. I interviewed with two companies: Sports Business Journal and CSE Talent. I started working at CSE in mid-January. So, if you're unemployed post-graduation, remember it's fairly normal to not transition right into full-time work. Don't be discouraged because you're not earning a steady paycheck 48 hours after you turn your tassel. #careeradvice #careersearchtips #networking #hiring #jobsearchadvice

Six months until my first fulltime job. Had an internship between. The six months were impacted by my decision to be highly focused on working in sports (preferably soccer) and in 2015/16, there weren’t a lot of social media manager positions in MLS/American soccer floating around. Glad I stayed patient and worked hard to make it happen.

I find that the students that are engaged while in school from freshmen year have a far shorter runway to employment after graduation. The freshmen that start interning right away, setting up informational interviews, and building those relationships will be employed quickly and in many cases, before graduation.

Graduated in May. Took an unpaid internship for the summer and working nights at the rec center where I went to school to bring in some extra cash. Didn’t land a full time gig until September (in financial services just as the housing market was going south). Also graduated with a communications degree and have worked in marketing my entire career 🤷🏻♂️

1 year and 3 months from undergrad, immediately started a masters program and was full time same month after completing post grad. I had internships in between.

Took me about four months: I graduated in May and started in September. I was also covering college and high school sports so that aligned with the hiring timetable for those types of positions.
