Over the subsequent two centuries, Bagan's rulers and wealthy citizens constructed over 10,000 religious monuments in the Bagan plains. These structures include significant and iconic temples such as the Ananda Temple, Shwezigon Pagoda, and Dhammayangyi Temple, which showcase the architectural and artistic achievements of the period.
