#StopPoliceBrutality RESTORE THE DIGNITY OF KENYANS!!! #rejectfinancebill2024kenya #rexmasai Can the police justify their use of live bullet during these demonstrations? Excessive force is not law enforcement. It is a violation of basic human rights. We condemn police brutality against peaceful protestors. The biggest casualty of today's protests will be the Police Service. How do you recover from the images of you clobbering, gassing and spraying kids whose only response is to shout "WE ARE PEACEFUL"? Absolutely zero justification for violence! The government should review their strategy on how they are governing the country! Whatever the outcome there are deeper issues of the youth that needs to be addressed. #rejectfinancebill2024kenya #FreeToProtest #HumanDignity #restorethedignityofkenyans #Haki ni Pande Zote #Tumechoka All reactions: 1 Rehema Zaid

After the brutal use of police and other agencies for crackdown on peaceful protesters, excessive use of tear gas and rubber bullets, violent arrests and detainment without cause, police brutality during demonstrations, suppression of free speech and assembly, targeting of journalists, media personnel, and YouTubers, inappropriate use of force against unarmed civilians, unlawful raids and searches, intimidation and harassment of dissenters, retaliatory violence against political activists, and forced disappearances, Pakistani society is tearing apart. Now Kashmir and the rest of Pakistan are needed to foster true democracy and hold elections without rigging.

Another clampdown on protesting has come in to force preventing individuals from causing repeated serious disruption. This on the back of the loophole closure that allowed a 'lawful excuse' defence for protestors. Under the Public Order Act 2023, serious disruption prevention orders will empower the police to intervene before individuals cause serious disruption, for those who have previously committed protest-related offences or ignored court-imposed restrictions. The Senate of Pakistan has passed a bill that imposes a three-year jail term for individuals participating in unauthorized protests. The bill aims to maintain public order and prevent damage to property during demonstrations. The legislation has sparked debate among opposition parties and human rights groups, who argue that it infringes upon citizens' fundamental right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression. Proponents of the bill argue that it will help maintain law and order, prevent vandalism, and ensure public safety. They claim that unauthorized protests often disrupt daily life, cause economic losses, and put citizens' lives at risk. The bill's passage has significant implications for Pakistan's democratic landscape, as it may impact the ability of citizens to express dissent and hold the government accountable. Its enforcement will be closely watched by civil society, opposition parties, and the international community. . . . #Pakistan #ProtestLaw #Senate #HumanRights #FreedomOfAssembly #tribunetrends

"It is not about playing a game of chess. It is about investing in human beings." Chair of the Criminal Bar Association Tana Adkin KC telling Skynewsuk.com the 24/7 idea for opening criminal courts "almost laughable" due to "decades and decades of underfunding" in the criminal justice system. Of course the criminal barristers left, in particular to prosecute and defend rape and other serious sexual offence cases, have been working 24/7 for decades just to keep an underfunded, crumbling criminal justice system from total collapse. CBA chair Tana Adkin KC told Skynewsuk.com “But is prioritising protest cases the right way to go when the problem in court backlogs is so much wider? She added "The principle that you deal with people as quickly as possible and get them out on bail [and] you set conditions so they don't go back onto the M25 and glue themselves to the road, the principle is fine. "But why should they have that while everyone else in the criminal justice system doesn't?" She also questioned the overall impact of protest cases on the courts, adding: "If you are putting pressure on a system that is already on its knees, it is obviously going to show up more clearly. "Our system should be perfectly able to deal with protesters as we have in the past. We have always had protests and the courts have always managed it. "I think when you are in strained times and you are dealing with a system that is, as I say, on its knees, that's when it is going to show up." There is a more practical element that could cause a headache for Lord Hogan-Howe's suggestion - running the actual courts. CBA chair Ms Adkin KC called the 24/7 idea "almost laughable" due to "decades and decades of underfunding" in the criminal justice system. Figures released by the CBA in 2022 showed 22% of barristers had left the profession since 2016 in protest at low pay for legal aid cases and a crumbling system as money-saving measures took their toll. "The whole shape of things has completely changed since 2011," she told Sky News. "Back then we had a lot more barristers than we do now. We're down to about 2,500 from 4,000 or 5,000 - at one stage we had 6,000 barristers. "But now we don't have enough people to do 24/7 courts, it would be impossible... asking people with families, people that are already on their knees, that we want even more from them." Image: Chair of the Criminal Bar Association, Tana Adkin KC. Pic: CBA And it isn't just about the barristers and the judges, the KC said. "It is the court staff, it's security staff, it is everybody being expected to do longer and longer hours for no extra pay or reward. "And because we have been beaten down for so long, all you would do is be driving more people away." She added: "It is not about playing a game of chess. It is about investing in human beings." https://lnkd.in/eEB4dM4i
Why should protesters get priority in our courts and go to the front of the backlog queue? 24/7 courts are unworkable when we don’t have enough people to prosecute and defend in normal operating hours. Sustained investment is what’s needed, in our Ceiminal Justice System and in the people who work in it. https://lnkd.in/eHnKf3zV

Jews For Peace appear on Wall Street in mass to tell US lawmakers "STOP FUNDING ISRAEL!" But will they listen. What federal prosecutor will begin the process of filing criminal charges for violations of the US War Crimes Act Title 18 USC Sec. 2441 amid a host of other laws such as the Leahy Act that "prohibits the United States from providing equipment and training to a foreign military unit or individual suspected of committing “gross human rights violations.” Such violations include extrajudicial killing, rape, torture, and forced disappearances, all of which have been video recorded by Israeli soldiers and documented. The State Department Leahy law was made permanent under section 620M of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, Title 22 USC Sec. 2378d. The evidence is clear and present. Protests are great, but when will federal prosecutors act? Federal prosecutors are expected to uphold the law impartially, regardless of the status or position of the individuals involved. According to the U.S. Justice Department, The Public Integrity Section of the US Justice Department is especially responsible for overseeing the investigation and prosecution of federal crimes that affect government integrity. But, is American law equal and impartial? #USwarcrimesAct #18USCSec2441 #ProsecuteNetanyahu #BlackLivesMatter #PalestinianLivesMatter #MuslimLivesMatter #JewsForPeace #StopFundingIsrael #ProsecuteBiden

We should really be worried about this! we really need to ask ourselves, where and what is all this political tension and propaganda leading to? What is our government going to look like in the future? Will our constitution, the backbone and stability of our country survive this invasion of our sovereignty? Will the Marxist virus infecting our country destroy the pillars of our culture? When I see people in our own government condoning the message of these protesters, I can’t help but surmise that this unpatriotic attitude will be passed on to future generations and develop community voting blocks that will turn antithetical to our founding principles and Constitution.
