Solving global energy & climate challenges, currently at Ørsted. Before at Tesla and the UN.

Signed, sealed… it’s time to deliver! Ørsted’s SVP for Stakeholder Relations, Ingrid Reumert, was in #Brussels today to sign the EU Wind Charter alongside the European Commission, EU energy ministers, and key industry peers. The Charter is backed by WindEurope and 300+ wind industry companies.     The Charter is an important political agreement for Europe’s wind industry. It commits EU countries to deliver on the actions assigned to them under the European Wind Power Package – a game-changing action plan which will help accelerate the build-out of wind energy as well as strengthen the supply chain.     Most of the roadblocks to reaching our European climate targets, which require building 30 GW of wind every single year up until 2030, will require sustained policy action over the next few years. By signing the Charter, the EU countries commit to improve auction design and permitting. That’s how we deliver for the climate, for industry decarbonisation, and add value for our society. For me personally, this ends what has been a busy year adovcating for renewable energy in the EU captial. It started with the finalization of the Renewable Energy Directive and much of the Fit-For-55 package. 2023 was also crunch-time for Electricity Market Design, which went through the EU process in record time. Lastly, we saw an increasingly important role of green industrial policy, for example through the Net Zero Industry Act. Wtih this much progress on accelerating the energy transition, I remain hopeful for 2024! See you on the other side, and enjoy your holiday season 🎇😉
