It's National Philanthropy Day!  While we can all agree that every day should be National Philanthropy Day, this is a great day to reflect on charity. Below are a few ideas: 1.    Imagine a world without charities. No charities helping animals, children, curing diseases, taking care of people in difficult circumstances. Take a minute on National Philanthropy Day to thank yourself for supporting causes you care about in the past – and plan what you can do for them in the future. 2.    Sit down and write out the causes and the charities you support and why you choose to support them. This can be a powerful reminder of the difference you are making to these great causes!! 3.    Write down a few ideas for how you can support these charities this week, this month and in the future. Get excited about your philanthropy!!

Let's change up the way we talk about and embrace the vibration of abundance 💵 We held such a great Halloween bake sale yesterday for P.A.W.S. (Protecting Animals Without Shelter). This is something we started doing a while back. I think this is our 5th one. My son Cade and his friend Charlie love doing these bake sales 🎂 It brings out the best in everyone. The boys learn about business and how to make a profit and they develop their charitable life pathway, which is great for the soul ✨✨ They also get to witness people helping out by giving us baked goods to sell or by coming along and donating way more money than they needed to for the cakes they bought. Some even come along and donate money without wanting cakes. At the end of one bake sale, a generous man contacted me and doubled our takings! The boys love counting up the money and watching as I transfer the money to P.A.W.S. knowing that every penny will go to helping animals in desperate circumstances, because we've chosen a charity that is run purely by volunteers. THIS makes me feel abundant. There are so many ways to feel abundant, even when the money is not coming to you personally. Merry Christmas everybody! Charity can be very simple. Winter is here, and so is the season of giving! 🧤❄️☃️ If you are interested in helping others - even the smallest donations matter. A cozy sweater or a soft hat can make a huge impact. It's a reminder that kindness doesn't have to be complicated; it can be as simple as sharing what we have. I’ve founded a non profit organization Weather Warriors to help those in need in poor weather as well as becoming a community of warriors! Steps for Weather Warriors: 1. Find any winter-related clothing or equipment that can help those in need (hats, mittens, scarfs, neck-warmers, etc.) 2. Make a short trip to a local donation center or donation box and take a picture of your donation! 3. Fill out the Weather Warriors Form (found on weatherwarriors.org) 4. Get added to the blog and become a Weather Warrior! So, this winter, let's spread warmth together! 🌟 Donate winter-related equipment and let's make this season a time of easy giving and create a ripple of kindness that lasts beyond the snow. It's #givingtuesday and I'm curious to know what organizations are close to your heart? I've been supporting the Animal Protective Association of Missouri as a volunteer, foster and even as a part time adoption coordinator since 2010. Witnessing the incredible growth and impact of the organization has been truly inspiring. The APA's work not only transforms the lives of animals but also leaves a lasting positive effect on our community. If you're looking for ways to make a difference, here are a few of my favorite ways to support this incredible organization: 🐾 Volunteer: From dog walking to socializing with cats and dogs, assisting adopters, to participating in fundraising events – there are numerous volunteer opportunities that cater to various interests. 🏡 Adopt, Don't Shop: Rather than paying thousands for a trendy mixed breed, try visiting a local shelter. They've got the best mixes and even pure breeds that are looking for loving homes. You can find any type, activity level, age and disposition in your local shelter. 📲 Follow and Engage: Stay connected with APA on social media to be the first to know about upcoming initiatives and events. Your likes, shares, and engagement amplify the impact of their message. 🎁 Donate: Whether it's gently used items like blankets and towels or new supplies like collars, toys, and bowls, or monetary support every contribution counts. It's a simple yet impactful way to make a meaningful difference. I encourage you to get involved with an organization that makes a difference in your community on this Giving Tuesday!

All clothing donations should be washed and folded as a health and safety precaution for our staff. All clothing donations should be packed in clear plastic bags. NO BLACK BAGS of clothing will be accepted. Dog and cat food is appreciated.
