MY CYBLACK INTERNSHIP LOG BOOK Sprint 1: Threat Intelligence Reflection and Realizations During my first sprint, I identified areas where I needed improvement, not due to lack of knowledge, but inadequate practical foundation. This sprint taught me valuable lessons and hands-on experience. Key Takeaways: 1. Happy second Monday! Time yet again for some more #unpopularopinion: You really never know who you will inspire. As an adjunct and teaching online, it is sometimes hard to know if you are actually connecting with your students, particularly the traditional pipeline undergrads. I taught a class on #cyberterrorism and it was a mandatory class for both the IT and Homeland Security degree paths. As such, about half of my students wanted to go in to IT/Cyber and the other wanted to be FBI agents. Half had a good technical background, and others were just people who have used tech all their lives. Here is the wild part, the students who still reach out to me from that class, are the ones that weren't IT majors. They have reached out asking about internships, about things they could do to learn more, and general life advice. I would have never thought that I actually made a real impact on these students. Simply because I was outside of their core interest. BL: Just because you don't think you had an impact, doesn't mean you didn't. You could very well have been a mentor without ever knowing it. #unpopularopinionguy

I am extremely honored to have completed the one-month virtual internship with ShadowFox, and I am proud to have achieved exceptional performance🎉. Throughout this internship, I had the opportunity to explore many things, including: 📍 Using commands such as nslookup, nmap, nikto, and dig to gather extensive reconnaissance of a target. 📍 Utilizing PE Explorer to access the entry point address of an executable file. 📍 Exploring the tool Veracrypt. 📍 Analyzing packets using Wireshark to obtain user credentials, and many more other activities. I'm thrilled to share that we had a successful onboarding week last week as Cyblack interns. I'm honored to have been chosen as the team lead by my peers, and I am committed to giving my all to ensure our success in this internship. During the first week, I facilitated our initial team meeting, where we selected the real company we’ll be focusing on and decided on a dummy company name. Additionally, I prepared a spreadsheet of our details and encouraged my team members to connect with each other on LinkedIn. Key takeaways from the onboarding sessions with our mentors include: Collaboration: In the field of cybersecurity, collaboration is crucial. No one can work in isolation, and working together enhances our collective strength. Good Reporting: While technical skills are vital, the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical personnel is equally important.
