I'm really proud of the steps that The ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation has taken with the leadership of Michelle Banfield 2022 and Darryl Maybery 2023 to create this available dataset for public use. Please consider sharing yours too if you are 16 to 25 years old - we are growing this part this year. As the priorities continue to grow year to year, we develop a richer picture of what matters most for people living with mental ill-health and ongoing distress, and for carers, family and kinship groups across the life course and nationally. One of the drivers for this work is not only to ensure that mental health research and translation meets the priorities that matter most for people most impacted, but that we start to connect research to be community-centric. If you didn't catch why we feel this is so important as a first principle, then, our paper Lost in Translation which reviews 12 years of reported mental health research priorities illustrates that sadly not much progress has been reported on meeting priorities and what matters most for people: https://lnkd.in/gJfiqum9 The National database is a start to shifting cultures in research, funding, policy and practice to foster connectedness in these areas. We are working on widening the possibilities of how different priorities are reflected and included so feel free to make contact with us for a conversation if this work interests you or could support activities that you're undertaking too.
🌟 2024 ANU-ALIVE #LivedExperience Priorities Study Closing August 31st🌟 A huge thank you to everyone who has already participated in any of our Annual #Priorities surveys. Your contributions have helped us build a National #Database of #MentalHealth #Research Priorities from those most impacted. You can explore 2022-2023 priorities here: https://lnkd.in/gQkkiC_k which includes more than 2,000 priorities from over 400 people. We are still growing the database and want to hear from #youngpeople (aged 16-25) living with mental ill-health, as well as their #carers, #families, and #kinship groups so we can enrich this resource and support researchers, partners, funders and affiliates to focus on what truly matters. 🔗 Get involved here: https://lnkd.in/g_u3T6zY and help us spread the word in the last week! #yourvoicematters Victoria J Palmer (on Wurundjeri Country) Michelle Banfield Dana Jazayeri Caroline Tjung Matthew Lewis Gregor McDonald Amanda Neil Nizam Abdu Alyssa Milton Lakshmi Neelakantan Nicola Reavley Caley Tapp Amy Coe Phillip Orcher Josh Reid Jones Lisa Brophy Dr Jaimie Northam Alana Fisher Martin Fisk Justin Chapman Hayley Purdon @University of Melbourne SANE Menslink batyr ReachOut Emerging Minds Australia The Resilience Project Just Be Nice Project (JBNProject) Black Dog Institute
