This last couple of weeks I have had the privilege of hosting webinars supporting potential investors in 3ti Energy Hubs with the knowledge to make an informed choice when it comes to investing! Also TODAY they can announce that they have been awarded £1.35 million as part of a £2 million Innovate UK project on V2X or "Vehicle to everything".The project is setting out to integrate bi-directional DC charging and the associated power management systems into Papilio3, a pop-up solar car park and EV charging hub. The 'V2X FastHub' project will be a watershed moment for future energy security, providing a clear pathway to help resolve the issue of intermittent supply from renewables by using EV batteries as grid assets." The full press release will be linked in the comments... Not only have a learned a lot, but I have personally grown in my confidence that there is a solution to the challenge of power availability and location not forgetting "energy independence". Many Fleets, especially commercial vehicle fleets need this solution, which could facilitate revenue generation, cost mitigation and transition facilitation. Finally some clever soul had the smarts to register as a trademark "Driving on Sunshine" - Genius!! Thanks to Tim Evans for asking me to support this project and the 3ti team for their patience in helping this relative numpty learn a little along the way! I hope you like my little record of our trip to their installation at Silverstone Ps: Invest by Friday on Crowcube - search 3ti in opportunities! High demand, strong outlook and a unique opportunity for cablemakers to play a vital role in driving the green transition globally. These are exciting times for the power cable industry. This week I had the pleasure to discuss the trends in our industry at the 2024 CRU Wire & Cable Conference in Amsterdam. Here are some of my key takeaways from the conference: - Strong electrical grids are essential for decarbonization: Robust grids are essential not only for connecting renewable energy sources but also for supporting battery systems, green hydrogen, and user electrification. A higher magnitude of investments are needed to ensure power grids are rejuvenated and extended to be ready for the demand. - More partnerships: The industry is experiencing rapid growth. To manage this pace effectively, strong partnerships are emerging on the commercial side. Midterm commitments and robust supplier partnerships are also crucial for sustainable growth. - Sustainability and Scope 3: Reducing scope 3 emissions will be challenging in our sector and largely depends on the decarbonization of metal production. Thanks to CRU and all the participants in Amsterdam for interesting discussions. #CRUwirecable #powercables #HVDC #PowerGrids #decarbonization

Previously, the "starting point" of N-type replacement of P-type reached in the photovoltaic industry. At that time, as perc cells are getting closer to the theoretical conversion efficiency "ceiling", the judgment and controversy about the next generation of mainstream technology routes are quite lively: in the N-type competition circuit, is TOPCON, HJT or IBC the most promising? In a variety of discussions and controversies, many manufacturers in the photovoltaic industry had announced the construction of TOPCON and HJT production capacity, and the research and development of IBC cells has also made great progress. Huasun: took the lead in the large-scale production of efficient HJT products. Jinko: 210 series 700W+ TopCon PV module debut to meet the new trend of the future. Longi: BC PV modules break through again, insist on doing the hard and right thing. #confirmware #solarenergy #solarpower #solarpanel #solarmodule #solarpv #newenergy #RenewableEnergy #greenenergy #photovoltaic #BIPV #Rooftopphotovoltaic #PVRoof #TopCon #HJT #0BB #BC

[Launch of the DC-POWER] The main objective of this project is to demonstrate that a medium voltage direct current grid, operating at bipolar ±1.5 kV and integrating significant local renewable energy generation, can achieve: ✔ A 50% reduction in distribution energy losses ✔ A 50% reduction in copper used in conductors ✔ A 50% reduction in downtime compared to a standard 400V 3-phase AC local distribution grid. 👉 Over the 4-year project period, the consortium partners will demonstrate, test and validate the D3 Bus concept in 2 operational pilots, both equiped with large-scale photovoltaic panels, powering: ✔ a 2 MW industrial-scale hydrogen electrolyzer ; ✔ a new data center with installed computing power of up to 500 kW. Medium-voltage distribution microgrids using direct current instead of alternating current look promising for resolving some of the weaknesses of the main alternating-current grid. 🍀 Good luck to the members of the consortium who met at INES last month for the official launch of the project! 💰 DC-POWER has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation program under grant agreement no. 101135828 👋 Jens Merten, Jérémy MARTIN, Gregory GUYOT, Alexandre Plissonnier #CEA #CEA_Liten #Carnot_EF #energy #electricity #europe #batterystorage #solar #photovoltaic #datacenter #hydrogen #megawatt #power 📢 Get ready for a major technological leap for the future of sustainable power distribution! 👉 more info about the project https://lnkd.in/eKC-RcA2
