D2C WEBSITE OBSESSION: Have you experienced it? This primarily exists when a business has moved from being just avaible on its own D2C website to omnichannel (marketplaces, quick commerce and sometimes offline as well) What are the symptoms to undersntad if one is suffering from it: 1. You spend money in digital branding and the only conversions you look at for defining the success of branding campaign, is on your D2C website 2. You spend money in branding campaigns and you want your performance campaigns to scale up substantially and have better conversion rate 3. You completely ignore how search volume on Google and Amazon (and rating as well) is increasing and stop branding if the traffic and conversion on your website is not increasing substantially 4. You want your website sale to increase when you are spending more money in performance marketing (and don’t check how your business growing overall). So you stop scaling when you see ROAS is dipping on your website with scale. Fantastic report on #omnichannel JBP practices from The Digital Shelf Institute and Microsoft. Appreciate the detail on the different types of JBPs (sales vs marketing led vs combined) and particularly love the template they offer as a tool for brands. Profitero's benchmark data shows that 41% of brands still don’t include #ecommerce in their JBPs or do so only sparingly, so there's a huge opportunity for brands to differentiate via #digital insights. 5 ways to bring ecommerce into omni JBPs: 1. Share category search insights — Help retailers understand what selection consumers are seeing when they type keywords into search and flag potential gaps with how they'd ideally construct the category to maximize growth. Help them see how “pinning” private label may be hurting. 2. Be vocal about any negative reviews your products are getting dinged with that are due to #retailer fulfillment or customer experience issues. They need to jointly own anything that impacts your conversion or organic #SEO. 3. Quantify the cost of #digitalshelf out of stocks — work collaboratively to determine the right replenishment cadence and flag stores where products are consistently out of stock and / or not even listed for purchase online 4. Ask for more insight on how their content grading ' listing quality scores worth; is it correlated with organic search improvement and sales or is it arbitrary? This will help you understand the additional insights you may need to make your content stronger than competitors. 5.
