Tonight APAH welcomed Luke Shaefer, author of “The Injustice of Place”, to Arlington! Mr. Shaefer joined community members and APAH staff at the Lubber Run Community Center to talk about his new book, and shared innovations that are interrupting poverty across the country. In his challenge to go beyond conventional tools used to measure poverty, he encouraged practitioners to “listen” more to the stories of the families, as they are key to identifying programs and policies that will have the biggest impact. Thanks to Marquan Jackson for convening this impactful event and to all the staff who helped make it happen.
