It was a pleasure to collaborate with Thornton Tomasetti and Gensler on this exciting project! Marquee Development served as owner's representative for the new sportsbook adjacent to Wrigley Field. Check it out!
As one of the oldest ballparks in the major league, Chicago’s Wrigley Field is not only hallowed ground to baseball fans, it’s also a National Historic Landmark. So when plans were announced to add a DraftKings Inc. Sportsbook entertainment venue adjacent to the Chicago Cubs stadium, the project team had to make sure the new 20,000-square-foot structure blended in seamlessly with the old. In the latest issue of American Institute of Steel Construction's Modern Steel Construction magazine, Project Engineer Joe Porada, Associate Principal Kevin Jackson and Senior Project Engineer Chris Porst write about how Thornton Tomasetti’s structural and construction engineering teams, along with architect Gensler, created a contemporary space in line with the historic park’s aesthetic.
We loved working on this project! 😉
