Plants are not the cause of your GI disease! Plants can definitely increase your symptoms, which can actually be a good thing when working with our knowledgeable team as it can clue us in on what is really going on. If plants are causing you to have symptoms here is what is typically at the root: 1. You are lacking in microbial species to properly digest. 2. Your GI tract has sustained past or recent trauma inhibiting its function. 3. One or more ancillary gut organs has been inflamed/damaged for a long time (liver, thyroid, gallbladder, etc) We all have different root causes, but it is not a whole and natural plant food. #ibs #sibo #imo #sifo #iso #plantbased #integrativenutrition #registereddietitian #healwitheachmeal

When are you truly healed? Well, running away from symptoms does not mean you are actually healing. While symptom relief is very important it should be done while truly understanding what is at the root of these symptoms. Everyone’s journey is slightly different in this, but so many can truly find relief from debilitating issues! #ibs #sibo #imo #iso #integrativenutrition #plantbased #fiber #registereddietitian #healwitheachmeal

What is the PCOS- Gut connection??? Your hormones! Did you know that your gut microbiome is essential to hormone balance? That is why when we speak on detoxes, we always focus on the natural and foundational detoxes that help balance your hormones daily: 1. A daily and healthy bowel movement! This will help detox hormones as well as many other things. 2. Proper urination. 3. Sweating daily! If you are struggling with any of these 3 foundational detoxes you are putting yourself at higher risk for hormone related symptoms and disease like PCOS. #ibs #sibo #imo #sifo #iso #integrativenutrition #plantbasednutrition #guthealth

Get your fiber from food, but if you are struggling to properly digest certain supplements can help! Not all fiber supplements are created equal, it is important to understand your symptoms to ensure the supplement you are taking is having the effect you want it to have. The goal of many supplements is to not stay on them forever, but to use they for a desired effect while you address the root and hopefully you no longer need them. #ibs #sibo #imo #sifo #iso #fiber #plantbased #gutnurture #integrativenutrition #guthealth

Does and Fall and Winter signal a time of increased symptoms for you? You are not alone! There are many possibilities for this and for many people they can all come together in a perfect storm: Environmental: leaves are falling, colder temperatures, more moisture in the home, etc. Food: birthday foods, holiday foods, sweets and more. People: seeing family that causes your stress levels to increase, maybe you are even hosting. What many of these things have in common is that they can increase your exposure to histamines and if you do not have a strong microbiome, as microbes help you to balance histamines, then you may find yourself with more symptoms. Don't fret because just as quickly as those symptoms appear they can disappear with the right approach. Histamines are good and necessary for our survival! Too much of a good thing is definitely possible though! #integrativenutrition #guthealth #ibs #sibo #imo #iso #fall #winter #histamine #plantbased #registereddietitian

As a family we sometimes get a bag of “Lib” which is Arabic for roasted sunflower, pumpkin, squash or watermelon seeds; and we sit around talking and eating seeds. This can be a game changer when you want something salty, crunchy, and satisfying vs pretzels, potato chips, etc. These seeds are not only satisfying to break apart and eat they contain huge amounts is soluble fiber, insoluble fiber (if you munch on shell, protein, flavonoids, vitamins, and minerals. It is a great way to get the family to enjoy a satisfying and healthy snack that your gut microbiome will thank you for! #ibs #sibo #integrativenutrition #family #glutenfree #guthealth #registereddietitian #plantbased Do you regularly snack on roasted seeds?
