Public Speaker, Career and Business Growth Coach, Thought Leader, CEO at Swift Minds, Director PR and Marketing- Human Resource Managers' Association of Uganda.
Dear leader, There is no secret that you know your best performers, your best talent. Those 20% that give you 80% of the results are well known to you. Your reward system therefore must reflect to this effect too. The price of keeping good talent is increasing very high this is because of our culture of nurturing leaders and little or no succession planning. For this reason a number of organisations turn to headhunting which is quite costly in a long run. What do you do then? ✅ Identify good young talent, pay them well and nurture them too into leaders. ✅ Maximize the value of those outgrowing their positions by assigning them mentees. ✅ Trust the young talent and promote them to higher positions of responsibility and still pay them well. Even when the grass looks greener outside, most times the solution is within your organization.

What makes the best talent leaders so good? In my view, two things: 1- Mastery of your domain. Remember: expertise > strategy. 2- Speed of execution. Because action creates information. The faster you execute, the more you learn, the better your decisions are next time. WDYT?
