Moments ⌛ vs. Materials 🛍️: Which Builds a Stronger Company Culture and Why? 🌟 Reflecting on Oprah's wisdom aboard Holland America 🚢, I'm reminded of the profound impact of experiences over possessions. As a MICE travel agency, we understand that investing in shared journeys creates lasting memories and fosters a unique bond among teams. Oprah emphasizes that the magic isn't in the 'stuff,' but in the moments that unfold—the awe of witnessing a glacier ❄️, the shared joy of a favorite things show. Similarly, our curated company trips are about being in the space where it happens, fostering openness, and creating expansive memories. 🎉 Let's prioritize experiences over things, invest in the magic of shared moments, and build a company culture that resonates beyond material possessions. Join us on a journey where memories become treasures. #ExperiencesOverPossessions #TeamBuilding #CompanyCulture ✨ Credit to this link - https://lnkd.in/g3cKxzJd

Strategic Learning and Talent Development Leader driving business results through high impact people solutions.
Good morning, LinkedIn community! 🌄 My recent adventure to Yellowstone National Park began with a flat tire in my rental car right at the park's entrance. As luck would have it, it concluded with a tow back to Bozeman Airport. While not an ideal scenario, I want to share how the kindness of strangers turned this misadventure into an unforgettable experience, ensuring I could still enjoy my trip and return home safe and sound. As I reflected on these unexpected twists during my return flight, I was reminded that when it comes to delivering exceptional customer service, there are two fundamental elements that truly matter: 1. **Attitude: ** In every interaction with customer service representatives, one consistent factor stood out - their sincere desire to assist and their remarkable empathy towards me as an individual. Their attitude made all the difference, even when they couldn't immediately resolve my issues. Knowing they genuinely wanted to help transformed each encounter into a positive and meaningful exchange. 2. **Empowerment: ** Multiple individuals went above and beyond to accommodate me because they possessed the confidence and autonomy to do so. They didn't need to seek permission, consult scripts, or adhere to rigid policies; they did what was right for me in the moment. Companies renowned for their stellar service empower their teams for a reason – it simply works. The true measure of customer service lies in what your teams do when no one is watching, with no external incentives or evaluations. Drawing from my extensive background in learning and development, I can affirm that no amount of training can compensate for a poor attitude. It's crucial to hire individuals who naturally embody the qualities that can't be taught – the helpers. When you have such people on your team, the rest naturally falls into place. I'd like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible individuals at Xanterra, the National Park Service, Marriott Hotels, Hertz, AAA, and American Airlines for consistently going the extra mile. To each one of you, I see you, I appreciate you, and I wholeheartedly thank you! 🙌🙏 #customerserviceexcellence #Gratitude #ExceptionalService #Hospitality #Training #attitude #empowerment

Data Architect at British Business Bank | Certified Data Management Professional (DAMA CDMP Associate) | Passionate about Solving Data Challenges & Enhancing Data Literacy in Business
🚴♂️ Last week, I had the chance to spend a day with my wider department on an away day. Anticipation was high as I pedaled across the Peak District National Park, through breathtaking scenery. 🌄 Our work-away day was packed with engaging team-building exercises and fun activities, each offering unique opportunities to connect and collaborate: 1️⃣ Building and Firing a Trebuchet: A challenging task that reminded us of the engineering brilliance of the past. It required teamwork and problem-solving. Even though our team had limited success, it was a great icebreaker for the day. 2️⃣ Archery: Practicing with the longbow, a staple of medieval English military, helped us focus on precision and technique. 3️⃣ Falconry: A personal favorite! Interacting with majestic birds of prey, like the White Gyrfalcon and North American Kestrel, was both fascinating and enriching. 4️⃣ Duck Herding: This activity emphasised patience and calmness. It turns out herding ducks is easier than the metaphorical task of herding cats, which is more common in my work environment over the years. 5️⃣ Hovercraft Driving: Learning to control the hovercraft was a lesson in balance and steady control. 6️⃣ Human Table Football: While not my forte, the advice from Jamil Qureshi to focus on strengths rather than weaknesses resonated deeply, underscoring the importance of leveraging individual strengths within a team. The highlight for me was undoubtedly getting a chance to interact with colleagues I don’t usually get to connect with. It was a wonderful reminder of the value of team building and the benefits of fostering closer relationships within our team. Looking forward to the next adventure and more opportunities to grow and connect together! 🚀 #TeamBuilding #CompanyAwayDay #Networking #ProfessionalGrowth #Teamwork #PeakDistrict #CyclingAdventure #BBBLife

A cultural fit and alignment of values are among the most important factors when you choose a professional employer organization. AEZ Car Rental's Sherri Schultz explains, "Insperity is an organization of good people who care about people, and they have good values. That’s important to me. Values are critical, and those are apparent at Insperity." #InsperityClient #HRThatMakesADifference #PEO #HumanResources #Values https://lnkd.in/gaEbvBS6

Giddy up for a company offsite in the Rockies! Propeller had a blast at our offsite in Estes Park last weekend. It was the perfect opportunity to recharge and reconnect outside of work. Here are just a few of the benefits of company offsites: 🌲Improved communication and collaboration: When we're outside of our usual work environment, we're more open to new ideas and perspectives. This can lead to better communication and collaboration within the team. 🌲Increased trust and camaraderie: When we spend time together in a social setting, we get to know each other on a more personal level. This can help to build trust and camaraderie within the team. 🌲Boosted morale and productivity: Company offsites can be a lot of fun, and they can help to boost morale and productivity. When we're feeling happy and refreshed, we're more likely to be productive at work. Company offsites are so important for team building. They allow us to get to know each other more personally, build trust, and collaborate in new and creative ways. What do you do to build your team? Shout out to my cornhole partners (Michael Macias, MBA & Kaleigh Schermer), the horseback riding crew (Cameron Simmons, MS = best dressed 🤠 ), and the short (high intensity) hiking team 🏔. Special thanks to the planning committee. ❤️ #teambuilding #companyculture #peoplefirst
