"Research suggests that there are two main pathways that lead gardeners to mental well-being. One is through the connection with nature and its aesthetic beauty. But another, perhaps surprisingly, is how gardening can also be a way for us to connect with other people." #wellbeing #gardening #nature #connection https://loom.ly/ASQ6mRk

UX/UI Designer (Freelance) | Aiding businesses in increasing online traffic through carefully-crafted web experiences
A good example of a well thought-out design achieving a better experience: Yes, I'm using my garden as an illustration again! 😝 I always design my annual garden with a section dedicated specifically to pollinators. I research the flora that grows best in my zone, accounting for soil type, weather and climate, sun-to-shade ratio, and more. 💐🌼🪻 Then I figure out the local fauna I want to attract, based on how they best help my garden to grow produce, keep away pests, and which endangered species could use a boost in numbers by sourcing food from my specific flowers. 🦋🐛🐝 I then factor in spacing and plant accordingly. Months go by, and if I've designed a successful garden, I'll see results like this! 😍 The serotonin boost I get from seeing all these happy butterflies also improves my own experience as the gardener. It's a win-win! 🥰 #designtips #gardening #userexperience #uxdesign #design

Learn about edible landscapes in Ecus Ltd's latest blog. Head of Landscape Kristina McKie shares her knowledge and discusses the benefits of introducing edible plants and flowers into green spaces👇 Edible landscapes have been around since the 10th century, though the term was not coined until the 1980s when it was brought into the mainstream gardening world. Traditionally, it was known as a potager or kitchen garden. More recently, edible landscaping has taken on an environmentalist approach. Lawns waste precious energy because of the pesticides, fertilisers, and electric mowers that people use to maintain them, which are often low in biodiversity. Edible landscapes emphasise creativity with gardening techniques, using fruit and vegetable bearing plants, herbs and edible flowers throughout gardens to turn the traditional lawn or garden into a more utilitarian space.
