The Rohingya refugees were targeted by disinformation and hoaxes during Indonesia's 2024 presidential election campaign. These false narratives were deliberately spread to exploit anti-refugee sentiment and gain public support. In this report, we reveal a coordinated campaign aimed at spreading hatred against the Rohingya ethnic group, particularly between November and December 2023. Our analysis covered more than 15,000 posts on Facebook, Instagram, and X/Twitter, along with 3,700 videos on TikTok, the main platforms where this hatred was propagated. The massive use of social media to spread hate did not stop in the digital realm but also led to real-world actions, such as the eviction of Rohingya refugees from their shelters in Aceh.
