What are the reasons behind our inability to produce large-scale art projects? It is important to note that when an art project reaches a significant scale, the artist's reception is only one aspect of the overall work. They lack the requisite knowledge to solve these cases. Consecutive trips Inconsistent decision-making about works and production items A lack of transparency in the chain of command It is not possible to have clear boundaries and a clear chain of command without differentiating between these two and moving forward with multiple projects. This work requires the use of human resources with a combination of management knowledge and artistic understanding. These resources are not readily available, costly, and may not align with the preferences of artistic professionals. This can cause animation (and art projects in general) to suffer a crisis of size and structure in many cases. If a project exceeds a certain limit and the proper structure is not formed, it can lead to project failure, suspension, and instability. To avoid this, consider the following: To managers and non-interference in delegated matters: - Creation of chronology, structuring, and quality control instead of point management interventions - Separating the project structure from the organization through a matrix or island structure - Look at the time and the necessary forecasts regarding the return on investment if the work is commercial - The importance and attention to the processes, post-production, packaging, marketing, and distribution and choosing the policy and taking into account the appropriate timing for them While there is no guarantee of success in these cases, we can at least mitigate the consequences and factor in potential predictions. #animation #artwork #industrial #art #film #movie

Here's a quick behind-the-scenes process video for how the cover for RAYMOND CHANG'S BEHEMOTH #1 was created. This was the last thing I had to draw, and by this point I'd learnt quite a few tricks on my drawing app, and also got into a good groove with my workflow, involving an inordinate amounts of visual/photo references to make up for my deficiencies as an illustrator. In truth, I ended up approaching this project much more like a filmmaker - curating and collating these references wherever I could find them, and getting my super helpful friends to take photos of me whenever I couldn't! The whole process was very much like working with a cinematographer, locations team and art department acquiring props and locations, and then putting all the raw material together in the editing room. Throughout this process, I learnt just how difficult professional artists have it, doing this day in and day out, struggling to meet difficult deadlines, in a world that increasingly thinks they can be replaced by machines. My hat goes off to all of them. Without the chops to produce at this professional level, I had to hunker down and make up for it with a lot of hard work and elbow grease. A storyboard is a visual representation of how a scene will play out on the screen. It shows the framing and movement of the subject and allows the filmmaker to previsualize what their scene will look like before they ever touch a camera. In this workshop, participants will walk through the storyboarding process. They will each receive a section of a script and be tasked with transforming their pages into pen-to-paper drawings of what they visualize the scene looks like when filmed.
