Every year on our #AdventCalendar, my fiancee and I take a shopping trip where we do our good deed by donating a trolley of shopping to local #foodbanks and families in need. This year, we picked up half a dozen mystery food bank bags from Morrisons; these contained a variety of food, toiletries, puddings and a blanket - exactly what was in each bag beyond that we don't know, only the value of their contents. I think this concept is great, because it overcomes the psychology and bias of buying cheaper, budget-brand items in order to feel like you're donating more; but the truth is I feel this concept works better because what you are buying to donate is not necessarily influenced by your own buying choice or taste, but more specifically what people need... But who knows, the contents of these bags could even be leading brand essential products. After all, everybody deserves something nice once in a while! Happy Christmas.
