On this International Women's Day, we at Maru AI celebrate the remarkable journey of women across the globe and the incredible strides they have made in every sphere of life. The day, officially recognized by the United Nations in 1977, has its roots in the early 20th-century movements for women's rights, particularly in the labor movement. It is a day to honor the achievements of women, reflect on the progress made, and advocate for continued advancements towards gender equality. Throughout history, many women have risen to power and influence, reshaping the world with their leadership, resilience, and innovation. Figures such as Marie Curie, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the only person to win in two different sciences; Rosa Parks, whose courage ignited the Civil Rights Movement in the United States; and Malala Yousafzai, a young Nobel Peace Prize laureate advocating for girls' education, exemplify the diverse ways women have made their mark. In the realm of technology, a field historically dominated by men, women have begun to make significant inroads. Yet, despite progress, women remain underrepresented in tech. According to the National Center for Women & Information Technology, women held 26% of professional computing technology jobs in 2021 in the United States. In leadership roles within the tech sector, women's representation is even lower, highlighting the ongoing need for greater inclusion and support for women pursuing careers in technology. At Maru AI, we are particularly proud to have a our female CEO, Farah Aslam, at the helm. Her vision and leadership underscore the critical role women play in innovation and the tech community's future. Her journey mirrors the resilience, creativity, and determination of women worldwide who break barriers and challenge the status quo. As we celebrate International Women's Day, let us commit to supporting and uplifting women in tech and all fields. Let us recognize the contributions of women throughout history while fostering an environment where the next generation of women leaders can thrive. At Maru AI, we are dedicated to this mission, striving to create a more inclusive and equitable tech landscape. Here's to the women who inspire us, lead us, and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future. Happy International Women's Day! #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInTech #MaruAI

Article: Silicon Canals | International Women’s Day is a painful reminder of how dire the situation is for women in tech 🚀 Another brilliant piece featuring our Co-Founder and Director Gabriela Matic, in Silicon Canals - European Technology News. Gabi says: "My main advice for women wanting to pursue a career in tech is to try to focus on what you bring to the table and why you are a real asset to your team or business, rather than worrying about being a minority. Don’t internalise sexist attitudes directed at you and champion fellow women. We will always come out stronger in the end if we work together, rather than giving in to a “no space at the top” narrative."
