🎄 On the 1st Day of Christmas, Marvel Training gave to me… 2 ways to help someone who’s choking! 🎄 💡 Choking can happen suddenly and be life-threatening, but with the right response, you can save a life. 1️⃣ Encourage the person to cough forcefully if they can—this is the body’s natural way to clear the airway. 2️⃣ If they can’t breathe or cough, deliver 5 firm back blows between the shoulder blades, followed by abdominal thrusts. 🚑 Quick, confident action is key in emergencies like this, and training makes all the difference. Our first aid courses teach you how to stay calm and take charge in moments like these. 👉 Be prepared to act when it matters most. In An Emergency, Will Your School Have What It Takes to Act Fast? In terms of Regulation 3 of the General Safety Regulations, schools must provide first aid training and facilities to deal with injuries. Do you know if first aiders are always present during events as required? You can request copies of staff first aid certificates and first aid kits inventories from the school. A documented emergency plan showing how the school will respond swiftly is also important. Have you satisfied yourself that your school is legally compliant in this vital area of health and safety? I once assumed my child's school had every safety measure in place. That was until Emily's accident showed me how wrong I was to take such protections for granted. One moment can change everything. Emily's recovery has been courageous, but it didn't have to happen. Click below to follow Emily's journey, and take 5 minutes to ask your school the crucial questions that could save your child https://lnkd.in/eCd9EHix

When every second counts, knowing CPR can save lives! Here’s a quick guide on how to perform CPR in an emergency. Remember, taking a certified First Aid course can equip you with hands-on skills and confidence! 1️⃣ Safety First: Ensure the area is safe for you and the person in need. 2️⃣ Check Responsiveness: Gently shake their shoulders and ask loudly, "Are you okay?" 3️⃣ Call 999: If there’s no response, call for an ambulance immediately. You can perform CPR while on the call. 4️⃣ Open the Airway: Tilt their head back and lift the chin to check for breathing. 5️⃣ Start Chest Compressions: Place your hands on the center of their chest and push down hard and fast—about 5 cm deep and at a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute. 6️⃣ Give Rescue Breaths (if able): After 30 compressions, give 2 breaths only if trained. Otherwise, continue compressions only. 7️⃣ Use an AED if Available: Follow the AED’s voice prompts as soon as it's available. 8️⃣ Don’t Stop: Continue until help arrives or the person starts to breathe. 💡 Tip: Disruptions should be under 10 seconds.
