Merch Cuts: If venues or promoters have to take a percentage of the artists merch, they’re not doing it right. It should be such a marginal revenue stream for them, but it’s a massive revenue stream for artists. If you wanna take merch cuts, then let’s throw in rebates, concessions, parking, etc. Artists - ONLY settle on NET merch. They take their expenses from the show, you take out your expenses on merch - tax, credit card, seller and cost of goods sold. Do not settle on gross merch, because you’ll keep less than 50% of your money if you do.
