✍️ How often do you as a designer actually still use a good old sketchbook? 💭 I think in our time, where we often spend more than 8 hours a day in digital tools like Figma and others, our definition of the designer role has somewhat changed. Of course, I love these tools, am an absolute fan, and incredibly grateful for all that can be done with them. 👀 But as often, it's about choosing the right tool for the right job. And sometimes, it's simple sketching that can solve a problem best. 💎 I once heard, "Writing is thinking." I would like to expand that for designers: "Sketching is thinking, too." 🎬 I have summarized my thoughts on this in a short clip where I react to Raphael Schaad's Config Talk. It's #config2024 time 🕺 🫶 Every year around the same time, I am reminded of what makes this community and industry so special. The kindness, the innovation, the open minds, and so much more. 🙏 I am incredibly grateful to be able to be a part of it. 🌴After the opening keynote, I will take a week off for some rest and relaxation. And then there will be plenty of new #Figma content! 👇What are you looking forward to the most at Config?

🎬 🤯 My first experiences on Twitch were... wild. 🧙 For a few weeks now, I have been streaming occasionally on Twitch. Nothing special, just relaxed co-working sessions using the Pomodoro Technique. 25 (or sometimes 45) minutes of focused work and 5 minutes of break. Sometimes in the evenings, I dive straight into Figma files for side projects. 👀 I would say that I have gotten used to speaking to a camera, thanks to Zoom & Loom. But Twitch is something completely different. Here are my top 3 learnings from the first few times on-air: 1️⃣ Recording a video is completely different from being live. I was incredibly nervous and didn't really have a plan at the beginning on what and how to do it. But practice makes perfect, and I already feel much more comfortable now. 2️⃣ Twitch and the whole streaming landscape (yes, OBS, I'm talking about you) are incredibly technological and not very user-friendly. Overlays, widgets, plugins, bitrates. There is so much to learn. I probably don't even know 1% of the things one should know, but I just love diving into something and learning along the way. 3️⃣ The co-working stream is incredibly beneficial for me, and I rarely have entered a flow state so easily. 😱 Pinch me! ✨ A few weeks ago, I had the great pleasure of giving a small presentation at the Into Design Systems Community & Conference about a current product from our design team at RTL+ Design. 🤿 Forewarning: It was very nerdy, and I did a thorough deep dive into the topic of dynamic color generation. 🎬 It was incredibly fun.
