We eagerly anticipate participating in tomorrow's IPHA conference in Dublin, where panelists will discuss the intriguing findings of a collaborative study conducted with Agency X using EPIC Conjoint’s rapid MaxDiff solution. Among the study's many significant findings, one stands out regarding perceptions of self-care: ·       The top choice, selected by 23% of respondents, was "Ensuring sufficient sleep to promote health and well-being." 😴 ·       Following closely, with 20% of respondents, was "Prioritizing physical well-being through regular exercise and a balanced diet." 🏋♂️ 🥗 ·       Only 9% of respondents favored "Knowing how to manage their health and having access to over-the-counter medicines for minor health issues," though interesting trends emerged: 👨 Males were 59% more likely than females to consider this as part of self-care. 👩👦  Individuals with children were 10% more likely to view this as self-care. #ConjointAnalysis #MaxDiff #selfcare #IPHAconference

Did you know that failure to create an individualized plan of care specific to the needs of the patient can significantly impact their outcome? 🏥✨ Developing an individualized plan of care to meet the unique needs of patients is required for optimal care. Failure to create an individualized plan of care specific to the needs of the patient can significantly impact their outcomes. To know what care and services are needed for patients, a careful assessment of them is needed. A plan of care is to be created based upon that assessment. A “Cookie cutter care plan” or a generalized care plan will not suffice. As per federal regulations and safety considerations for the patient, the care plan is to be developed based upon the identified needs found when a comprehensive assessment is done. The care plan must “describe “the services that are to be furnished to attain or maintain the resident's highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being”. Failure to develop a tailored plan of care is a breach in the standard of care. As each person’s personality, physique, and abilities are different, so are their needs. This remains true when their health is impacted and/or function is impaired. #IndividualizedCare #PatientOutcome #NursingHomeRecords

Note: U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs #VA provided access to all notes & results in 2013 (w/ mental health) and was driven by #patient demand; benefits for patients far outweighed small risks - which could be mitigated.
