How does all this season’s self reflection help my career?! Good Question! 🙌🏼 Here’s the deal, if you want a find a new career/job, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝘁. ⤵️ Yesterday I gave you four questions to get your career reflection started. 𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘺’𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵. Look at your answers and ask yourself two more questions about your answers, 1 - 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗜 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀? 2 - 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁? FOR EXAMPLE Here is the first reflection question you answered from yesterday’s post: 1️⃣ When you started the year, what was your hope for your work/career? Maybe you wanted more flexibility with a remote position and to feel more valued by your employer. 1 - 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗜 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀? I asked my employer if there were flexible options, there were not for my position, I asked why not, and didn’t get a real answer… I didn’t do anything about the value thing, cause I didn’t know how to. 2 - “𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲?” I was in control of asking about flexibility options but my employer is in control of creating/allowing them. If my manager/employer doesn’t behave like they value me there is nothing I can do about that, they are in control of that. ** Now, do the same for the answers on the other three questions from Tuesday’s post ⤵️ 2️⃣ What has been the best thing about your career this past year? What has been the most challenging thing? 3️⃣ What are three things you wish you had more of this past year when it comes to your work/career? 4️⃣ Looking back, did you fulfill the hope you had for your work/career at the beginning of the year? If not, why? ** 𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘈𝘊𝘛𝘐𝘖𝘕
