Question ?!?! What’s one of the biggest challenges you face with staff ? Over the years in medicine I have noticed a common theme with a lot of the staff that I have worked with :- 🎯Lack of support 🎯Feeling of not being heard 🎯Compensation (this is a big one) 🎯Workload 🎯Long hours of operation. 🎯Work life balance 🎯Adapting to new and evolving changes in healthcare The way I tackle some of these issues in management are as follows :- 1 Meet with staff 1-1 📅 and get to know them well and their roles (which can take a little time). This is extremely crucial in order to improve on things. It is also vital to gain their trust that you are there to help them with their day to day tasks. 2 Actively listen 👂to concerns they have with their roles and about the company. 3 Watch staff 👀/ shadow them while they are working to see what their work flow looks like. 4 Start formulating ideas 💡as to how workflow can be improved. 5 Meet with medical providers / directors to discuss ideas 💡 of process improvement. 6 Meet with individual staff again to encourage and implement changes. 7 Have checkins with staff daily to see if workflow has improved I have found over the years that just actively listening and knowing that they can talk to you as an individual to help them resolve and solve problems on a day to day basis helps tremendously with morale and day to day operations. #mindfulmanagement #activemanagement #managersthatcare #supportingtheteam #managementconsulting
