Notice anything odd about this photo? Sandhill cranes are common in this area, but the way these four were behaving seemed off to me. Normally I would pass by them, but today I noticed something odd. Notice it yet? They all four have their heads down! No one was assigned to keep watch in case of danger. Like these sandhill cranes, we often keep our heads down. It is so easy to keep your eyes focused on the ground looking at what's right in front of you, focusing on what is most urgent. We do this as individuals, as families, and as organizations. We get so wrapped up in doing what is right in front of us, we forget why we were doing it in the first place. Right in front of us is a great big world! We just have to have the awareness to lift our heads and see it. -- Through Iron Warrior Coaching, I help humble, passionate, and purposeful family leaders as they strive to lift up their eyes to make Christ known in their homes and businesses. Curious to learn more? DM me—I would love to walk with you through this journey. ✨ #VisionaryLeadership #FamilyFirst #IronWarriorCoaching

A tugboat pulls and drags ships to ensure their safety in getting home. But the lighthouse? It stands tall, beaming light to guide ships home. Guiding without dragging. That's key. Instead of pulling people along, seek those who resonate with your vision, who can see the light, and willingly follow it. When your vision becomes your light, it attracts individuals who believe in it, and things align effortlessly. It starts with one person, then another joins, and soon, a collective momentum builds. Not only that, if you surround yourself with like-minded individuals who match or exceed your pace, it will only make your light brighter. And when your light starts to burn out, they'll be there not to let you give up and push you forward. It can take someone nudging you forward, just as two Boston friends guided a Texas girl who is a wimp when it's cold to see a lighthouse close-up. For some reason, I wanted to see a lighthouse in Boston. They were a lighthouse guiding me, chatting, and distracting me as we walked across the very windy levee; they were the people to drive me to my goal. It's about reciprocation. Find people who can be your light and be that guiding force for others, too. When everyone takes on their role as a beacon, it propels everyone forward. #Leadership #Visionary #Guidance #TeamEmpowerment

Many reviews written about this. As a lover of aviation it continues to fascinate me. The calmness, the dialogue, the seamless call of decisions made. I have watched the movie and seen the clips - this is a demonstration of experience, trust, knowing your skills and not questioning them also being part of the solution, none other than those involved can comprehend. Train everything to be second nature, become the best you can possibly be, then when the time comes, you know how to behave. #leadership #sully #landinginthehudson https://lnkd.in/gtU46BYw

🌊 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 🌟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦: 𝐀 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 Once upon a time, in a bustling coastal town, stood a mighty lighthouse. The keeper, Eliot, was revered for his wisdom and calm demeanor. A young, ambitious Captain Aria arrived, eager to make her mark. As a fierce storm approached, Eliot advised the Captain to trust the collective strength of the town, but Aria, driven by pride, decided to face the storm alone. The tempest raged, and soon, she found herself in peril. In the darkest hour, the town, led by Eliot, united to create a chain of light guiding Aria back to safety. The once-proud Captain learned a crucial lesson: true leadership involves humility, wisdom, and the courage to trust in others. 🔦 I found these Leadership Lessons: 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Listen to those who have navigated storms before you. 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡: Never underestimate the power of a community working together. 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: Acknowledge when to lead and when to learn. This story, "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦," reminds us of the timeless principles of leadership. As we navigate the complex waters of our professional lives, may we remember to shine a light for others, just as Eliot did. 👉 What's a time you've seen collective effort overcome a challenge? Title: The Wisdom of Sharpening Your Axe: A Lesson in Sustainable Productivity In an enlightening story shared by Simon Sinek, two lumberjacks embody the essence of sustainable productivity. While both start and end their day at the same time, one consistently outperforms the other despite taking an hour break daily. The secret? He spends that time sharpening his axe. This metaphor extends far beyond physical tools; it's about nurturing our personal and professional growth continuously. Simon Sinek stresses the importance of taking time to recharge—not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. Implementing practices like 'duvet days', as in his company, allows employees to acknowledge when they aren't at their best without guilt. How do you ensure your 'axe' is sharp in your professional journey? Do you incorporate similar practices to maintain your productivity over the long haul? #Leadership #Productivity #WorkLifeBalance #SimonSinek #MentalHealth

And just like that we're more than one third of the way through #Reggaemonth Today's song is a haunting favourite from Jimmy Cliff - sitting here in Limbo. "Sitting here in limbo ....Waiting for the dice to roll" Are your employees sitting in limbo or do they have a clear career path? I have been blindsided by a boss who had a clear career path for me but just assumed that I would know that he planned for me to be his successor. Meanwhile I was silently planning a career outside of the organization! Having a clear sense of direction and purpose can help direct reports to bring their A game to the process. Creating an environment in which they have that clear sense of direction and purpose is the work of leaders. Are you leading? #purpose #workwithpurpose #leadership #careerplanning #careerpathing
