Wardour Street. Covent Garden Piazza. Charlotte Street. Knightsbridge. West Halkin Street. Looking back on my 30 years I’ve been in PR, I’ve worked in some pretty amazing locations, iconic addresses and buildings with built in food, drink and lifestyle pleasures on the doorstep. Yep, there was also the Cromwell Road flyover. Or Kensington Village as it couldn’t have been less appropriately named. Interestingly none of them have survived as offices. Now The Banana Tree Kitchen. Galeria Melissa (not the same without shared corridor desks and typewriters to work from). Flats. Super premium £20m flats. Flats. And flats. But all the workplaces come with a blend of memories, learnings, hugely valuable recall associations and people energy, humour and character embedded in all. I’m not advocating full time return to offices, but one thing that can’t be allowed to slip in the perma-shift is team and office culture. An office isn’t just functional, it needs personality. It isn’t a place to be crammed full of meetings on days in, but one where time to blend and blur lives happens. And it doesn’t need to be a nineties/noughties statement palace, but it does need to feel right for who the business is and what they stand for. Of course price and budgeting are ever increasing factors. But culture and belonging are factors that shouldn’t ever be sacrificed (Picture here is clearly from my time working in Covent Garden….)

Manchester is full of amazing developments right now, and one thing stands out: the growing focus on public realm. It’s not just about stunning architecture or modern interiors anymore—it’s about the spaces between buildings that make the difference. Take Spinningfields: its mix of green spaces, outdoor seating, and events transforms it into more than just an office district. Employees can step out, recharge, and connect—all of which boosts well-being and creativity. Over at MediaCity, the waterway views, green spaces, and open plazas make it a destination people genuinely enjoy working in. Whether it’s grabbing a coffee by the water or attending an outdoor event, it’s a perfect example of how public realm creates vibrant, people-first environments that energise employees and attract talent. And then there’s Circle Square: with Symphony Park at its heart, it’s a great example of integrating nature into the city. Outdoor lunches, fresh air breaks, or even walking meetings—it all adds up to happier, healthier teams. The benefits? Companies attract and keep top talent who want to work in environments that prioritise well-being. Plus, workspaces surrounded by accessible, green spaces show your commitment to people—not just productivity. As Manchester continues to grow, these open, community-focused spaces are becoming a defining feature of developments that stand out and succeed. #ManchesterDevelopments #PublicRealm #MediaCity #CloserToNature #WorkplaceWellbeing #TalentAttraction

AEW acquires office repositioning opportunity in London’s West End Spencer C. Head of Value-Add Strategies at AEW,said: '' Fitzrovia is currently experiencing a shortage of well-located, state-of-the-art office space with limited new development, which has led to a large supply-demand imbalance and continued upward pressure on prime rents. According to AEW’s research, prime offices are projected to generate the highest returns across all real estate sectors over the next five years, driven by recent re-pricing and increasing occupier demand for high-quality space. This vibrant area of London continues to attract a broad range of occupiers and we believe the transformation of this asset into a modern, sustainable building, will offer attractive space to prospective occupiers whilst generating value for our client.” #Londonrealestate #realestate #commercialrealestate #office https://lnkd.in/gZXz5uFs
