How do members talk about #Freemasonry to non-Masons or people interested in joining? Despite the persistent myth about Masonry being a “secret“ group, members are absolutely allowed to and even encouraged to discuss their experiences with people around them. It’s how the tradition stays alive, from one person to the next. Getting the word out about Freemasonry and what it means to real-life members is an important part of carrying our tradition into the future. In our latest video, we speak to a member of Acalanes Friendship Lodge No. 480 in Lafayette to hear about his unique way of sharing and talking about Masonry. I'm Brother Cave of Okalani fellowship #480 in Lafayette, CA. I'm the senior Deacon this year at the lodge. I've been a Mason now for just short of two years. I started the pin collection mainly from I was wearing a ring when at work and clients mentioned Oh my grandfather was a Mason or my brother was a Mason and it just started generating conversations that I really enjoyed. Having so I thought, what else could I wear or display that could draw attention to myself and that I'm a Mason without overtly saying it and then generate conversation from the person I'm talking to. So I started looking at a different pins and what I found was, is that just an eclectic variety of pins, whether they're goofy pins or holiday pins, pins that celebrate monumental occasions and lodges like 100 year anniversaries and things like that. I travel a lot. I've been to 38 lodges in a little over a year and I found that some launches I went to would give me a pen and then I could put it in my collection and just, you know, think about it and be like, oh, I remember going to this lodge and meeting those brothers and it kind of almost served as it's just a nice momento keepsake. So this is. An awesome pin the general slogan for Masonry's to be one ask one pardon. This is to be 1:00 ask me and so people know that I'm open to have this conversation. It's not just pride and and you know I'm like hey, I'm I'm out here. Ask me any question you got if I can answer that will this pen generates a lot of conversations. We didn't have a pin here. I worked with another brother and we helped design a pin for dislodge. And it's been wildly successful. Whenever anybody visits us or we initiate a new Master Mason, we're able to give him this pin. And you know, they wear it with pride.

Our second project way back in 2015 ! We have come along way since then. Still a brilliant example of what the correct methods and cleaning agents can do to transform a building. We was asked to give this old church the wow factor as it was developed into a single dwelling.
