Mosaic tiles sparkle beautifully under water. That said, be aware of the installation challenges they sometimes present. Understand what you’re asking your mortar to adhere to when it comes to dot-mounted or mesh-mounted mosaic tiles, especially in wet areas like pools and water features with the 95% mortar coverage requirement (for more on coverage, review my previous post on this topic at https://lnkd.in/gjNMPzHq ). Face-mounted mosaics are predictable since the back of the tiles are accessible and easily bonded to the mortar, as in a conventional tile installation. But when it comes to mesh-mounted or dot-mounted mosaic tile sheets, embedment becomes crucial since the mesh or the dried mounting dots create a layer between the tile and the mortar. As with all tile work, using trained installers makes all the difference. #Tile #Watertight #Mosaics #Coverage
