This advanced TAH, utilizing cutting-edge MAGLEV technology, represents a significant leap forward in cardiac care, offering new hope to patients with severe heart failure awaiting transplants. This groundbreaking procedure, using a titanium rotary blood pump with advanced MAGLEV technology, represents a significant milestone in cardiac care, providing a vital bridge-to-transplant solution for patients awaiting heart transplants. US20230173253A1 The BiVACOR Total Artificial Heart (TAH) operates using advanced MAGLEV (magnetic levitation) technology. The device consists of a titanium rotary blood pump with a single moving part—a magnetically levitated rotor. This rotor, positioned between two pump chambers, propels blood to both the pulmonary (lungs) and systemic (body) circulations, effectively replacing the function of both ventricles of a failing heart. The MAGLEV system eliminates mechanical wear, reduces blood trauma, and provides a durable, reliable, and biocompatible heart replacement for patients awaiting a heart transplant. AU2017205172B2 The heart pump described in the patent is a rotary impeller-based device designed to assist or replace the function of the heart. It includes a housing that forms a cavity with at least one inlet and one outlet. An impeller with vanes is positioned inside the cavity, which rotates to move fluid (blood) from the inlet to the outlet. The device is engineered to maintain a minimal cross-sectional flow path area, reducing shear stress and the risk of blood cell damage, clotting, or pump thrombosis. 🌟 We are excited to share a new article by CIRSE’s Clinical Services in IR Task Force, published in CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR). The article presents the results of a survey on IR clinical services among CIRSE members worldwide and proposes three levels of clinical service infrastructure in IR, which can serve as a benchmark for current clinical involvement and provide a template for future service development. In alignment with the findings of the survey, IASIOS strongly supports the growing role of physicians performing IR and IO procedures in taking a more comprehensive approach as clinicians, caring for patients before, during, and after procedures, as outlined in the CIRSE Standards of Quality Assurance in Interventional Oncology and the CIRSE Clinical Practice Manual. Thrilled to announce that our abstract titled 'Insights into retroperitoneal hemorrhage management: Results from a tertiary cardiovascular center prospective cohort' has been accepted for poster presentation at the #European_Society_of_Cardiology Congress 2024 in #London! #ESC is the world leader in the discovery and dissemination of best practice guidelines in cardiovascular medicine and, alongside the American Heart Association (AHA), advances the cutting edge of knowledge and provides trustworthy diagnostic and management guidelines in the field of cardiology. Utilizing #data_analytics, we analyzed approximately 90,000 patients undergoing #cardiovascular_intervention over an 8-year interval, identifying the cases of #retroperitoneal_hemorrhage (RPH) and comprehensively evaluated both conservative and interventional management approaches, bridging crucial gaps in current guidelines.
