Amazing news for MA residents and commercial building owners! 🏙 U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced that #Massachusetts, along with the City of Boston and the City of Cambridge, will receive nearly $20 million to accelerate the implementation of building performance standards that will make the places we live and work more energy efficient and resilient. These funds will empower building trades programs in #Justice40 communities and lead to the creation of a Building Performance Exchange hub. Check out this TechCrunch article from Tim De Chant about how MassCEC portfolio company Adept Materials’ humidity-absorbing paint was inspired by trees. The startup’s innovative paint has the power to make homes and buildings more energy-efficient and resistant to moisture damage, saving owners time and money on maintenance and utilities while reducing their carbon emissions in the process. That’s why we participated in Adept Materials’ recent seed round alongside leading homebuilders like D.R. Horton and PulteGroup. We can’t wait to see this product hit the market early next year! #climatetech
