ITALIAN BIOTECH on the Rise We nailed! After intense months of work, the #NationalWorkingTablefortheInternationalisationofBiotech (#NWTIB) released its first (interim) Report, which was presented at the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale Wednesday 16 October in #Rome. The Report outlines an ambitious strategy scaling for scaling up our #R&D institutions and #Biotech companies, with precise reccomendations both in a #international and #domestic perspective. #Biotech is a national priority for #Italy and a building block in our relations with #UnitedStates. With the #DiplomaziaInnovazione and the support to the #internationalisation of our emerging #Biotechnology #champions Italy can play a key role in #advanced and #frontier #technologies. DIGITAL INNOVATIONS DAY (Milan, 8-9-10 October 2024) What an exiting journey the #DigitalInnovationsDays in #Milan and their extraordinary mix of #insights, #vision and #cultures to enhance the value of #crosscontamination in #innovation. I had the honour and pleasure to deliver a keynote on “#DeepTech in a Era of Geopolitical and Financial Challenges. Opportunities for Italy”. I argued that we are on the verge of a new #Technological Revolution marked by #advancedtechnologies such as #AI #Quantum #Biotech #MicroMaterials #SpaceTech etc. whose technological risks are higher and time-to-market longer. Thus a new public-private #financialpact is neede to fund this new wave of #innovation. Milan Fintech Summit 2024 This year Milan Fintech Summit was a coming of age event that confirmed #Milan as a key and growing European #fintech hub. I had the pleasure to take part in two workshops: 1. The first powered by Visa, with Andrea Cerritelli Fastweb and Andrea Tessera Sella, brilliantly moderated by Eva Ruiz Cendon of VISA. 2. The second powered by TerraPay , with Andrea Polito Clelia Tosi Erik Van Thielen, conducted by super expert Marco Boldini, MBA. Financial #inclusion, financial #literacy, new #Tech Trends, the incoming #quantum revolution, the search for new #revenue streams, the declining #profit margins, the impact of #AI, the role of #incumbents (i.e. the traditional financial istitutions), financial #regulations, the source of #innovation in fintech, the interaction between #deeptech and fintech, #VC funding barometer; these some of the topics debated. Techtalia 2024: A Bold Future All day Saturday I had the pleasure to participate in the 2024 Edition of TechTalia in #Florence, a format geniously created by Gabriel Schillinger that bridges the #InnovationEcosystems of #Italy and the #UnitedStates. In the stunning surroundings of #PalazzoGuadagniStrozziSacrati, Italian and US #investors, #founders, #startuppers, #entrepreneurs and #visionaries debated on #tech, #innovation a much more. FOCUS on INNOVATION from the SOUTH Finally, a much deserved spotlight on the #InnovationEcosystems of #SouthItaly with the Sud Innovation Summit hosted in Comune di Messina on 3-4 October. Roberto Ruggeri and his team were able to put together a coming of age event on the #strenghts and the #opportunities of an extraordinary territory and tech community. #BigTech,#corporates, #founders, #investors, #academics, #institutions and many promising #youngpeople and #students gathered for a two days of debates and exchanges of views on the potentialities of this enchanting part of #Italy. UniCredit Startup Academy 2024 E’ stato un vero piacere intervenire oggi alla #StartupAcademy 2024 organizzata dal #UnicreditStartupLab con una mia presentazione sul tema “#Globalizzazione e #Crescita: #strategie e #sfide per le #startup”. Ho ricordato ai numerosi #founders intervenuti che una visione #internazionale delle strategie di crescita deve far parte del loro #DNA dal giorno zero e che solo grazie a una espansione sui #mercatiesteri tali #startup possono sperare di #scalare.
