U-Tube Heat Exchangers, as a non-storage calorifiers, shows the difficulties in chemical & mechanical cleaning for fouling (unwanted deposits) and scaling due to their configurations. Thus, Plate Heat Exchangers may be a good choice to avoid these issues. However, there is more flexibility in the sizing of gasketed plate heat exchangers, where plates can often be added or removed to achieve the desired heat transfer area. In many cases, plate heat exchangers are oversized simply to reduce the pressure drop for the secondary fluid.

During the course, I learned everything from design principles, components, and industry codes, then dove deep into creating and interpreting piping isometrics. This emphasises a strong foundation for designing, building, and maintaining these crucial systems used in petrochemical plants and other industries.
