📈 Dynamic pricing hits the news again!📈 The recent scramble for Oasis tickets has lead to a scramble to denounce dynamic pricing as demonic! But, as gig tickets are perishable and stadiums have a fixed inventory, shouldn't we expect this, as we do with planes, trains and automobiles (showing my age there... 😏) For me, the article misses the point, with the problem being that customers were not told in advance that this would be the case, arriving at point of purchase, only to find that their anticipated outlay had doubled! Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater: many enjoy those cheap flights to Benidorm in January, subsidised by paying more in the Summer holidays; however, in my experience, when you violate the notion of what the general public perceive as fair, you should expect a spotlight to shine on your practices.
