It was lit & full of vibe (view the video below 👇). But hold up, let’s talk real – while the vibe was off the charts, I noticed a little something missing: "where were our young African leaders?" Feeling a tad lonely at the party, so I've taken it upon myself to step up as a network cheerleader. It’s time to make sure our African youth, especially those from marginalized regions, are front and centre in this global movement.
But hey, hold onto your hats, folks! This ain’t your typical stuffy conference 🤭.
This is where you’ll find impact network wizards dropping knowledge bombs, a hangout spot for real, authentic convos, & a chill zone for some good fun & games. Sure, the top might seem a bit cold & lonely, but fear not! As Susan Davis famously said, "If you want to change the world, throw a better party."
Now, let’s talk deets from the launch – during our mapping exercise, participants spilt the beans on:
- 83 needs, from storytelling to network decentralization to reaching voters in EU elections 📝🗳
- 138 offers, including community weaving, SEO wizardry, personal branding magic, blockchain know-how, and the art of asking the tough questions 🧵💻
- 152 passions, ranging from Eastern philosophies to breadmaking to wild swimming 🍞🏊♂️💫

Hey everyone, we're halfway through the adrenaline-fueled ride that is New York Tech Week, and boy, do I have 3 thoughts to share!
1) 🌍🤝 Connection Cravings Are Off the Charts
With over 200 official events today alone (June 5, 2024), it's clear that people are hungry for networking. I mean, most events are so packed, you can barely squeeze in! It's amazing to see founders and investors from all over the world coming together. The global tech community is truly something special.
2) 🎉🗣️ The Great Networking Paradox
Is it just me, or do some of these "networking" events make it nearly impossible to actually network? I feel like I'm shouting over the music half the time! 🎧😅 I love a good party, but maybe we could tone it down a notch and actually hear each other speak? 😆
3) 🌇🔍 NYC Tech Scene: Untapped Potential Alert
Chatting with NYC folks, I keep hearing the same thing: we need a better way to stay connected beyond Tech Week.💡 There's so much potential here, and it's up to us to build the community we want to see. 🛠️🌍
