Coming from a technical background, I've been studying Sales Engineering best practices. One thing that really struck me is the art of customer qualification. Had an interesting chat with someone who shared how prospects sometimes overstate their technical capabilities - not maliciously, but due to misunderstandings or different metrics. Their advice: Master the art of curious questioning. Learn to ask: "Could you elaborate on those numbers?" "What monitoring tools do you use?" "Can you show me your current workflow?" The goal isn't to prove someone wrong, but to uncover the real story and ensure proper fit. As I prepare for this transition, I'm realizing: technical skills matter, but the ability to tactfully uncover truth might matter more. Any experienced SEs out there with additional qualification tips? Would love to learn from your experiences! #careertransition #salesengineering #techsales #careergrowth

People are often judged based on their profession and how prestigious or lucrative it is. Careers like Investor 💰, CTOs 🎩, Surgeons 👩⚕️, Lawyers 📚, come with preconceived notions of both success and intelligence. Sales Engineering, on the other hand, is a relatively unknown career path. But it’s actually a fantastic option for many reasons: [1] It offers a unique mix of tech and sales skills [2] The opportunity to specialise [3] Typically provides good pay It’s a career path worth considering (and encouraging) for those who enjoy solving technical challenges, client interaction, and the chase of a deal. It's time to give Sales Engineering the recognition it deserves 👑 #CareerPath #SalesEngineering #TechCareers #CareerGrowth #TechSales

Technology suppliers, stop being agreesive car sales people. Start finding a best way to educate and inform without you and your products being the highlight of everything. Technologies are technologies and just same honestly. But what is behind the technology Why is there such a technology . How does it fit in different circumstaance. Is the sales person clearly aware of how the prospective technical client is thinking and wants. Have you done a good background check on the company and person you are selling too. Now the most disgusting one is a marketing person (maybe with very limited technical knowledge) trying to use some google information to teach a specialist about a topic that support his texhnology. A pure annoyance and completely waste of time. Any you cry foul that there is solutions but you sell more than you teach or inform. #water #manufacturing #mmbr #mbr #engineering.
