Looks like HUD wants to give felons a chance to redeem themselves by becoming "fair-housing testers." Because nothing says redemption like entrapping innocent real estate brokers, loan officers, appraisers, & others. I can already see the job listing now: "Wanted: convicted perjurers & fraudsters. Must be comfortable with undercover work & have a knack for entrapment. Previous experience in assault, rape, or armed robbery a plus." I mean, who needs a background check when you have the perfect "entrapment specialist" with a criminal record? Talk about a bootstrapping opportunity.

This is where the wool slipped completely off of my eyes. I realized that they were trying to get into my bank account, and my heart sank. No wonder they offered $60 hourly as bait! I texted back: Because of the prevalence of identity theft and fraudulent fund transfers, I will not provide you with my bank name, account number, or other such private information. If you wish me to purchase equipment from a specific vendor, please send me a paper check, and I will use those funds for equipment after that check clears. Upon further reflection, I insist that you not send me any check, paper or virtual. I reject your offer and ask you not to contact me again. I sent it off and sighed. Back to the REAL job hunt. I did file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. Do yourself a favor when you're offered a job that seems too good to be true; do some research about the company, and do not give them access to your personal and financial information unless you are positive that they are reputable.

(Advised to an US Client) 1.For the two loans in the name of Mr. XYZ total amounting to $ 5642 ($2821 each in two occasions) had availed from two small lending companies (SBLC) were forgiven under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) by the Small Business Administration. These data are recorded in the Federal Register and uploaded in their websites. 2.One loan $2821 was forgiven as of 12.10.2021 and the other loan $2821 was forgiven as of 01.9.2021. On the PPP application, Mr.XYZ reported intending to use the proceeds of their PPP loan for Payroll expenses. As per Federal Pay’s PPP Information Policy Paycheck Protection Loan data has been made public by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for all private companies that received a PPP loan. All information displayed on this page is publicly available information under PPP loan guidelines, in compliance with 5 U.S.C. § 552 (Freedom of Information Act) and 5 U.S.C. § 552a (the Privacy Act) and is published unmodified, as provided by the SBA. Federal Pay does not modify the data and makes no claims regarding its accuracy. All PPP borrowers in their application forms included a disclaimer describing that, , under the Freedom of Information Act, information on borrowers including “names” and “amount of the loan” received would be “automatically released” upon a FOIA request .While the SBA initially released partial data on recipients of PPP loans greater than $150,000, a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by a number of national media organizations sought the full disclosure of data on all PPP recipients. On November 5th 2020, United States District Judge James Boasberg ordered the Small Business Administration to release data   including "names, addresses, and precise loan amounts of all PPP borrowers". Changes to data displayed on Federal Pay can only be made by requesting a modification through the Small Business Administration, not to Federal Pay according to Federal Pay’s Policy regarding display of PPP data. 3.Probability for removal of online content: If you think that you did not owe the loans, your identity theft might have occurred, in this case report the same to the Federal Trade Commission at IdentityTheft.gov. Visit the SBA’s website sba.gov/id theft and consult with the two business lending companies, who had disbursed the loans. Alternatively, if you treat your PPP loan as debt, it’s recognized as a financial liability (with interest accrued) on your balance sheet. The amount received from the SBA should be shown as a cash inflow from financing activities. Talk to your lenders to make sure this option will work for you if you choose it before recovery of the loan with up-to-date interest.                                         _____________

"It's her", I heard through the muffled tone of voice on the phone. I scratched my head. WHATCHU MEAN, "it's her"? Am I on some sort of naughty list? What is "it's her" supposed to mean? Several months ago, I noticed an escrow discrepancy related to the sale of my house, and so I had to play phone-tag with my former mortgage lender and title attorney in an effort to resolve it. Without going into substantial detail, let's just say the math wasn't mathing, and neither party was very helpful in helping me understand why. As someone that works in auditing & regulatory compliance, tracing and resolving discrepancies is my jam. Even at work, I've earned myself somewhat of a humorous tagline: pesky but friendly pain in the tuckus. Evidently, I've earned myself a similar connotation with my former mortgage lender. The associate on the other end, several times, tried to swiftly run through the numbers in trying to understand the discrepancy. "If you don't mind, I'd like to go through the numbers in detail, line by line", I patiently told her. I heard a sigh on the other end of the line. Thankfully, she obliged, and we were able to identify the source of the discrepancy. As we were wrapping up the call, I jokingly asked her what had been meant by "it's her" at the start of the call. She hesitated, trying to find her words. I joked back that she could be honest, I wasn't going to be offended. "You're just known around our office for being extremely detail-oriented, and for being an absolute stickler when it comes to hunting down and interrogating numbers. You are always very persistent." And true to my word, I wasn't offended. I actually felt flattered! 😄 Being incredibly detail-oriented and extremely persistent in identifying and resolving discrepancies is a skill that has helped me succeed, apparently both at work AND personally. Have you ever been able to leverage professional skills in a personal capacity, or vice versa? Meme because I can only imagine this is the face the employees at my mortgage lenders office must make when they hear my voice on the phone.
