With World Suicide Prevention Day taking place tomorrow (Tuesday 10 September 2024), we have published the first part of our ‘how to optimise the mental wellbeing of those around you’ blog, which focuses on how you can support others, and how organisations can build a culture of prevention. You do not need to be a medical professional or mental health expert to support others, anyone can provide support when they spot someone who may be experiencing mental ill-health, or if someone is brave enough to reach out to you. This blog helps you to identify the signs of stress, anxiety and depression in yourself, and others; and provides guidance on how to start the conversation. It also provides organisations with strategies to implement in order to build positive mental health in and through work. Today is World Mental Health Day — a moment to reflect on the importance of mental well-being, not just today but every day. Mental health affects us all, whether directly or through someone we care about. This year's theme, 'Mental health is a universal human right,' serves as a powerful reminder that access to mental health support should be available to everyone, no matter who they are or where they live. In our workplaces, homes, and communities, we must continue to foster environments where open conversations about mental health are encouraged, where stigma is challenged, and where seeking help is seen as a sign of strength. Whether you're supporting a colleague, a loved one, or taking time to care for your own well-being, remember that it's okay not to be okay—and that help is always within reach. Let’s make mental health a priority today and every day. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #Wellbeing #Support #BreakTheStigma

It's okay to not be OK. The power of talk can save lives. That's why I'm joining Audacy, Inc. and @LizHernandez to help host a mental health initiative called "I'm Listening," a broadcast special airing on your favorite Audacy station tomorrow, Wednesday September 25th, at 7pm PT. In partnership with @afspnational (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention), the program will highlight mental health resources and the lifesaving benefits of open communication, and serve as a safe space for those of you struggling with mental health, encouraging you to call in with your experiences and learn about mental wellness tools, showing you that you are never alone. If you or anyone you know are struggling with mental health issues like depression or anxiety, know that someone is always there. Be sure to tune in so you can connect, heal, and share your stories. Additionally, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 988. Tune in tomorrow using this link: https://lnkd.in/ggmKyUUw #mentalhealth #SuicideAwareness #selfhelp #SuicidePrevention #anxiety #mentalwellness
