As we celebrate our independence – Canada Day on July 1 and Independence Day in the U.S. on July 4 – let’s take time to give thanks for the sacrifice of those who have fought for our freedom and defend it still today. And remember, there is still much to be done to ensure equity and inclusion for all people. Enjoy the weekend and please be safe! Let’s make this an incident-free holiday.

trudeau is trying to play on fairness for all, the budget includes an increase in capital gains which libs/ndp claim will force the "ultimately rich" to pay more in taxes evening out the field. BS! Ultra rich are not the only ones affected, our parents, our doctors, our innovators will all be forced to pay. Our parents had more, damn right they did, more opportunities to work hard, live well and save for their future which includes ours as well. How is trudeau evening out the lopsided playing field, by taxing our parents out of their well deserved investment in their retirement. Absolutely not fair in any sense and will not help the younger generation whatsoever. He is protecting the ultra rich while wiping out the middle class. Talk about fairness, he is full of shit. Shamelessly taxing us out of what we deserve, the carbon tax is taking more out of our pockets, more food out of our mouths and causing less homes to be built, whether they are affordable or not. He is a dictator not a leader, impoverishing us, not lifting us up and out of the misery he is responsible for causing. A true leader would help citizens, not impoverish any & would not with intent destroy us & our country's economy. He is a destroyer not a leader.
MP for Carleton, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, and running to be Prime Minister of Canada
After 9 years of Trudeau, young people who did everything right can't afford the same life their parents had. Common sense Conservatives will restore the promise of Canada and bring home a country that works for the people who do the work.

On July 1, 1867, Canada's Confederation took place, marking a significant milestone in the country's history. This event brought together the colonies of Canada (formerly Canada West and Canada East, now Ontario and Quebec), New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia to form a single dominion within the British Empire. The Confederation was the result of years of negotiations and discussions aimed at creating a stronger and more unified nation. The motivation behind Confederation was multifaceted. It sought to promote economic growth, improve transportation and communication networks, and enhance collective defense capabilities. The newly formed Dominion of Canada provided a framework for cooperation and collaboration among the provinces while maintaining ties with Britain. Under the Confederation, the federal government was granted powers over national defense, trade, and interprovincial transportation, while the provinces retained control over local matters. This division of powers created a balance between centralization and regional autonomy. The Confederation had a lasting impact on Canada's development. Over time, additional provinces and territories joined the Dominion, expanding the country's geographic and cultural diversity. The federal government gained more responsibilities and powers, shaping Canada's political structure and governance. Today, Canada celebrates July 1st as Canada Day, commemorating the Confederation and the birth of the country. It serves as a reminder of the unity, diversity, and ongoing efforts to build a strong and prosperous nation.

Canada under this wing nut Trudeau has gone from hiring, developing, promoting and working with the best to filling positions via diversity, gender and sexual orientation. What can we expect when our Pm is an inept two faced black faced drama teacher with a couple NDA’s for weird sex stuff. You add his coalition partner Singh, a Khalistan supporter who isn’t even allowed to visit his homeland. You get lousy government and service agencies such as Police, Military and so forth. In doing so you also tarnish the Canadian name and brand world wide. You destroy outstanding and hard faught for relationships and trust world wide. That includes your own citizens. When people are starving, under attack or lose a loved one they don’t care about diversity. They simply want and deserve the best to help them and get justice. Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh (aka Jimmy Dhaliwal) you both need to be investigated and tried not just in Canada but internationally. Let Canada rebuild the trust and positive brand you two have destroyed. Let there be a return of common sense and respect for the taxpayer. Let there be actually competent deserving people helping our citizens.

😰 Sri Lanka is too hot these days. Scientists claim it's due to the climate change. "Increased heat stress is an indication of climate change, and a recent study found that deadly heat stress is becoming a common occurrence across South Asia even with 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit) global warming. Lareef Zubair, a scientist at the Foundation for Environment, Climate, and Technology (FECT) said heat stress in Sri Lanka is rising to dangerous levels for a larger share of the population due to climate change. Sri Lankans are now experiencing more warm nights compared with cold nights. A study found that annually averaged mean minimum temperatures are increasing, reducing the gap between maximum and minimum temperatures. Temperatures in Sri Lanka have been rising faster than the global average at about 1.8 degrees Celsius (3.24 degrees Fahrenheit) per decade, Zubair said." Source: https://lnkd.in/gk2bTjf2 Ohh wait that means..... 😵 I wonder whether the democratic decline came first or the climate change, in global south. Can't wait to see the study results. #democracy #climatechange

Only a century ago, Native peoples, the original inhabitants of these lands, were conferred U.S. citizenship. With this new status, we should have had the same power as other citizens to shape America, but it took another 40 years of relentless struggle for all Native peoples to secure the right to vote. This hard-won victory allowed our grandparents and great-grandparents to finally have a voice in decisions that directly impact our Tribal homelands and communities. Yet, despite continued attacks on our right to vote, we have elected Native leaders to represent us in Congress, passed legislation to strengthen our communities, and influenced the outcome of a presidential election. 100 years later, we still hold the power to influence decisions to protect our lands and water and uphold our Tribal sovereignty. Showcase #NativePower by resharing this post and join the conversation as we explore the meaning and impact of the 1924 Indian Citizenship Act. Canada Day commemorates the British North America Act of 1867, which united three British colonies into the Dominion of Canada. Initially known as Dominion Day, the holiday became official in 1879. Historian Forrest Pass explains that the date was chosen for administrative reasons rather than revolutionary significance. Early celebrations were spontaneous and locally organized, often inspired by American Independence Day traditions. The festivities included a 'Dominion Salute' of one gun for each province, mirroring the American 'Federal Salute.' It wasn't until 1982 that Dominion Day was officially renamed Canada Day, reflecting a shift in national identity. This change paralleled other national symbols, such as the adoption of the maple leaf flag in 1965 and "O Canada" as the national anthem in 1980. Today's celebrations highlight Canada's multicultural and bilingual nature, moving away from its British colonial roots. Ottawa, the nation's capital, hosts significant celebrations on Parliament Hill. The Royal Canadian Air Force often features prominently in the festivities, adding to the patriotic atmosphere. Live musical performances and fireworks displays are common, with Canadians across the country participating in various local traditions, from barbecues to pancake breakfasts. Canada Day is a time for Canadians to come together and celebrate their shared heritage and evolving national identity. #montenegro #travel #quotes #facts #famous 110/195 TOUR MY WORLD MONTENEGRO / YUGOSLAVIA The use of the name Crna Gora or Black Mountain (Montenegro) began in the 13th century in reference to a highland region in the Serbian province of Zeta. The later medieval state of Zeta maintained its existence until 1496 when Montenegro finally fell under Ottoman rule. Over subsequent centuries, Montenegro managed to maintain a level of autonomy within the Ottoman Empire. From the 16th to 19th centuries, Montenegro was a theocracy ruled by a series of bishop princes; in 1852, it transformed into a secular principality. Montenegro was recognized as an independent sovereign principality at the Congress of Berlin in 1878. After World War I, during which Montenegro fought on the side of the Allies, the country was absorbed by the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, which became the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929. At the conclusion of World War II, Montenegro became a constituent republic of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. When the latter dissolved in 1992, Montenegro joined with Serbia, creating the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and, after 2003, shifting to a looser State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. In May 2006, Montenegro invoked its right under the Constitutional Charter of Serbia and Montenegro to hold a referendum on independence from the two-state union. The vote for severing ties with Serbia barely cleared the 55% threshold set by the EU, but it allowed Montenegro to formally restore its independence on 3 June 2006. In 2017, Montenegro joined NATO, and it is currently completing its EU accession process, having officially applied to join the EU in 2008.cia worldfactbook Findings of Amer
