Most of the employees working in toxic workplaces are forced to work due to lack of right job options and high unemployment in India. Though not a fan of this YouTuber but he has raised some pertinent questions in this video. #toxicworkplace #worklifebalance #employeedignity #EY #changedriver #pune #mentalhealth #workculture #policychange #labourdepartment

Germany is testing a four day work week and Why India should adopt it sooner. Germany is known for the strict values they follow when it comes to work. Although many oppose this move, a 4 day work week will increase the productivity and reduce stress in the modern day work conditions. India is known for its Manpower and its service market. We have unemployment and exploitation as major problems in our country. India is one of the least happiest countries, ranking 126 out of 136 in the recent survey. To elevate our lives, economy and to reduce drastic inflation, a Four day work week model can invariably contribute. By hiring buffer force, companies could always circulate and distribute the labour in shifts. This helps provide all week support, reduce unemployment problems in the country and generate more revenue. The Future Workforce will mostly be Gen Z, their value systems have high morality and seeking happiness as a core part. If work doesn't make them happy, they will switch. So, India should adopt this model sooner. A Happy Employee will always Yield Happy Results. #germany #fourdayworkweek #india #employeeexperience #employeesatisfaction

Confusing Entrepreneurial Culture with Workplace Culture Yesterday, I had the opportunity to discuss the topic of 14-hour workdays on National Channel @ NDTV, a subject sparking intense debate in the corporate world. (Jump to 1.32 in YouTube video below) At AWA, a leader in workplace strategy and change management for over three decades, we have done multiple studies. Our Pre & Post Pandemic #WorkplaceIndex #3 study (released in August 2023), with hundreds of global firms, reveals a significant shift in workplace dynamics: global knowledge workers now spend an average of only 1.75 days per week in the office, with Asia Pacific slightly higher at 2 to 3 days. This doesn’t mean they’re slacking off; many are working remotely, often exceeding 14 hours a day. However, this should be an exception, not the rule. Calls from business leaders at Infosys, Tesla, Ola Electric and many more, for substantial increases in daily work hours reflect an entrepreneurial culture that should not be confused with a sustainable workplace culture. Such expectations can lead to stress and burnout, undermining the very productivity and innovation we aim to achieve. In our relentless pursuit of economic progress, we should not forget well-being of workers and must adopt sustainable workplace culture, avoiding the pitfalls like #Karoshi that have plagued Japan for decades. (Following widespread outrage, Japan's 2018 Workstyle Reform Act restricted employees to no more than 45 hours of overtime per month). https://lnkd.in/gMN4dxqk _____ Andrew Mawson, Brad Taylor, Amy Lawson, Nathan Gupta, Izabel Barros, PhD, Lara Al Ansari, Parthajeet Sarma, Monique Pothoff, Parthajeet Sarma, Harika PV, Harshitha Aparna, Sampada Kumbhe, Sanjeev Chhabra, Mahima Nigam #14HoursWork #70HoursWorkWeek #Workplace #Culture #WorkplaceStrategy #KITU #Entrepreneurship #News

Great efforts Petrofac...Such activity in every 1 to 2 hours a day would really improve the health and productivity of people.. Stretches after every 1 hour and walking one round after every 2 hours will be very healthy. Based on a recent study " Sitting continously for 8 hours is equivalent to smoking 1 packet of cigarette a day". This is the level of damage due to sitting. Some companies even try 1 to 2 hour zumba workout once a week. After sitting for 4.5 days 9 to 10 hours per day this doesn't seem to make any sense. Another disaster in many companies is the caged office without any sunlight and with uncontrolled chilling AC.May be OK for people from cold countries. For Indians, this is a disaster. People fall ill frequently and also they feel uncomfortable unhealthy and lose their efficiency.... The old saying "warm and cozy atmosphere" really make sense...Such frequent activities with controllable ACs makes the people really warm and cozy and productive and less vulnerable to diseases also.
Our India offices are not only a hub for great work but also a place where employee wellbeing is paramount. From daily stretching sessions to community initiatives, our team in India has created a positive and supportive work culture that fosters growth and wellbeing. To give you a glimpse into the daily routine of our India office, check out this short video showcasing the team doing their daily stretches. #Petrofac #wearehiring

It seems like we, as Indians, are still carrying remnants of the colonial mindset. While we're politically independent, we remain economically bound to multinational corporations that exploit our labor by paying low wages and demanding excessive work. It's hard to understand how someone like Narayan Murthy can advocate for a 70-hour work week when the average Indian salary is just around Rs. 3 lakh. They should try asking Europeans to do the same favor. Our government is focused on attracting foreign MNCs to invest in India, but this comes at the cost of weak labor protections, exploitation, and a culture of toxic competition.

Entrepreneurial & Purpose led lawyer looking to shake up legal services... for Business! HR Consultant | Employment law | Business law | Networking Ninja
"The triumphant return!" We made it back to the UK after all the trials and visa tribulations in Delhi, India. Forgive the jaded picture, but that did capture the emotions the day we were leaving! Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed Delhi as a city - but we were definitely ready to come home! In the end, what sped along the process, and became the theme of our unexpected additional week away, was building rapport 🤝 It started with building rapport with the immigration officer at the Visa office, helping him to understand the seriousness of the situation and that we needed his assistance to get an exit permit to get home. That rapport was built by clear communication, setting out our position, listening to their feedback, and then together, devising a plan of action. Our journey of building rapport continued with our hotel, the Taj Mahal New Delhi (Taj Hotels). Their understanding, compassion, empathy, and customer support (not just service, actual support), were second to none! We genuinely could not have been in better hands. How was this achieved? By being transparent, honest and vulnerable. Helping the other person understand the situation we faced and trusting their human reaction. These are 2 fantastic examples of how engaging people can make difficult situations not just tolerable, but help elevate us all! 💪 When managing your employees, this approach can work a treat. 👌 As business leaders, it is important to accept and acknowledge that every conversation will not be easy. There will be difficult moments to tackle and discuss. The point of employing people to join your business journey is never just the obvious benefit of "getting the work done". 🛑 The objective and purpose of EMPLOYEE RELATIONS is to combine forces with your team members to elevate each other through BUILDING RAPPORT and ENGAGING one another! 👍 And just like we did in a moment of utter chaos in Delhi, you will also be able to navigate through the rough, smooth, and everything in between! What challenging situations have you encountered with your employees (or in life) where building rapport has steered you through? 🤔 And remember... if you need any help building your Employee Relations - Team Simplify ER is here to assist - rapport comes free of charge 😉 #simplifyer #buildingrapport #employeeengagement
