This is a well-written article that just scratches the wave tops of the purvasive rot that permeates the military justice system. In full disclosure, I served with Jamie in the 3d SFG(A) CIF and know him on a professional and personal level. For those that have served with Jamie, the sting of this betrayal cuts incredibly deep. If I made a list of names that epitomize the ethos of the ‘Quiet Professional’, James Morris would be on it. Jamie has a sterling reputation as a man of all-weather character in addition to being a superb Green Beret and NCO. He makes my go-to-war roster every single time. Jamie and his wonderful wife Kim conducted themselves with dignity and poise throughout this ordeal. The loss of his service and this family to the Special Forces Regiment, at the hands of senior officers and enlisted in the Regiment, particularly those of 3d SFG(A), is an unnecessary and inexcusable tragedy. The perpetrators of this injustice are not faceless, remote strangers executing the institution’s will from a distance. They knew Jamie as well or better than anyone. They knew what they were doing was wrong and simply lacked the ethical foundation and/or the moral courage to act appropriately. There is no mechanism to hold individuals accountable for these ethical lapses. On the contrary, institutional leadership tends to reward and protect them. Even if the institution rewards you with promotions and opportunities for greater malfeasance for your repulsive service, you can never escape the coward in the mirror which reflects the same image we all hold of you. #LeeStrong #JasonJohnston #franbeaudette #bradmoses Jamie does not nor will ever have that problem. #jamesmorris #juliegolsteyn #petehegseth #danlamonthe #toddsouth #philstackhouse #reneestackhouse #ninahilner #mattforst #jeffreyaddacott #fredgalvin #kevinriley #ajkibby #joshladd #mattcoburn #scottmann #anthonytata #scottmiller

This is unbelievable. If there was no probable cause and no further investigation by CID, placing him on a National Police Records Check database would have significant impacts on this Senior NCO and his family. Remember the Fort Hood/Cavazos Investigation that cited serious problems with CID? Serious problems with organizational culture and a call for a Civilian CID Director. There needs to be an administrative review and process for correction of records like the Navy Department has with BNCR.

Let’s name and shame all those who stood by and allowed this to happen. How can these people look at themselves in the mirror knowing what they have done to Jamie and so many others? 😡Thank you for pushing this out to the world. They can run but they can’t hide.

This is beyond gross. The people in charge of this need to be imprisoned.

I'd really like to know names of the CID guys.

Spineless "leaders" by rank only, believing their own press. They should be ashamed of themselves, but people like them have no shame. My prayers go out to this soldier and letters have been sent to my congressional and senate representatives to clear this soldier's name.

That was a tough article to read. I hope they can get his record cleared.

Shocking. How many more are under this same umbrella of “administrative action” and are unaware?

I fully understand. I retired as a civilian assigned to the Navy. Of course an incident was almost a case until an unarmed military branch underestimated my time in service. I responded only with the fact I already met the details of my personnel record a year and a half previously.

"'It's really a story of the military overreacting, looking for scalps,' said Jeffrey Addicott, who is representing Morris pro bono through the Warrior Defense Project." I knew Jeff Addicott back in my homeland-security days in San Antonio, Texas. Jeff is übersmart and tenacious.

Our fervent prayers are with Jamie and his family. The malfeasance of which the CID and their superiors are capable is well known by our family and many others whose sons have sacrificed all to serve their country only to be betrayed by those who have neither the courage or selfless honor to do so.
