We usually don't post about awards. It hasn't, historically, been our style. Instead, our team celebrates amongst ourselves. We call the client to give them the good news. A statuette is carefully placed on a shelf in our office. However, today marks a special exception. We're excited to share that not one, but two of our projects have been nominated for the Anthem Awards, a festival recognizing mission-driven work. These projects share a common thread: they are solutions-focused and elevate the voices of individuals and organizations we deeply believe in. And each project serves as a reminder of the privilege I have in working with the talented team at Cultivator Content Labs. Below are the links where you can watch and, if moved, vote for them in their respective categories, helping bring their powerful messages to a broader audience. One last end of the year request for a vote-up from my network. Each year, the Anthem Awards honors the purpose & mission-driven work of people, companies and organizations worldwide. Now, we all know that the moniker "purpose & mission driven" can sometimes be nothing more than "virtue signaling." However, there are brands, advertisers, and organizations who are truly committed to making a difference. There's some great work being done, and it deserves to be recognized. As some of you are aware, we've been leading the way in advocating for sonic diversity in advertings; more specifically, the use of more diverse voice talent in mass market advertising. Our first-of-its-kind research into the impact of racialized listening on ad favorability and effectiveness has paved the way to creating a business case for sonic diversity, and our Stand For Sonic Diversity presentations and website (https://lnkd.in/d93NYyp) continues to education and inspire folks in our industry to make much needed changes in our approach to voice casting, scriptwriting, production, strategy and more. It's an initiative that has had a profound impact on our own casting practices and advocacy within SiriusXM and Pandora. This year, both those initiatives are finalists for an Anthem Award. Currently, there's public voting for a "Peoples Choice" award, which brings me to my ask. If you're so inclined, please register and upvote one of these initiatives to help bring even more visibility to our work advocating for sonic diversity. I say one, because both are finalists in the same category, and you can only vote once. To find our entries, just use the search function on the Anthem page and enter "SXM." If you want a suggestion, based not on the worth of the work but only on the stats, currently the research (re: sonic diversity and ad favorabilty and effectiveness) appears to have an edge. Thanks so much - and regardless of the vote, please check out our Stand For Sonic Diversity website for more information about the initiative. https://lnkd.in/gTcchVZS #StandForSonicDiversity #SonicDiversity SXM Media

An organization, Girls First Finance (GFF), that I am passionate about and have done some work for needs our votes! I’ll explain what for below, but between now and December 21 you can vote by “Celebrating” them via the link attached to this post. This voting platform does require you to verify your vote via email to protect against voting fraud, and you may need to unsubscribe later if they add you to an email list. GFF supports young women directly all over the world to ensure they can access safe, affordable funding for their tuition, living expenses, or enterprise ideas. Millions of girls in all countries are exploited by bad actors in exchange for tuition fees, passing courses, and jobs. GFF’s mission combats this horrific exploitation and lifts girls up. Now, regarding what you’re voting for, GFF’s CEO Andrea Pizziconi authored an explosive report called ‘Connecting the Dots’. This report was recently recognized by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) as a finalist for the Anthem Award under the category of Responsible Technology for Awareness and Media. IADAS’s mission is to recognize and acknowledge excellence on the Internet across emerging technologies. The Anthem Award has become the most prestigious social impact award in the world. Please vote by clicking the link attached to this post and then click “Celebrate” on GFF’s tile. #supportgirls #ngo #international #goodcause #responsibletechnology

Congratulations to Alli O'Connell, Beth Foster-Chao, and Cyrus R. Martin!! As part of our DEI strategy, the Autodesk Foundation redesigned our website to be more transparent, inclusive, and grantee-forward – transitioning from an invitation-only funding stream to a self-nominating process, with details about what to expect within the selection process, average funding, clear criteria, and theories of change. We created custom landing pages to build credibility for early-stage organizations, with innovator-forward content uplifting historically underrepresented leaders. Goals & Objectives: In redesigning our website, we aim to set a new standard for transparency, open-source funding, and grantee-forward content in corporate philanthropy. The redesign is part of our overall DEI strategy to increase funding to a portfolio that reflects the ecosystem's diversity and talent. Results & Impact: Since the website redesign, we have surpassed key DEI targets – 46% percent of portfolio organizations have at least one person of color in the CEO/founder group, a 230% increase over our baseline. Women lead 50%+ of organizations, representing 4% growth over the baseline.
Where do you find inspiration? 💡 Today, we found it among the announcement of the Anthem Award winners. We are honored to be part of this group and receive a silver award from The Anthem Awards for "building a transparent, inclusive website to level the playing field in philanthropy" in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - #CorporateSocialResponsibility category. 💫 #CorporatePhilanthropy Learn more about the award and the other winners of the 2024 #AnthemAwards ⤵️

The co-president of #SXSW Hugh Forrest gave a shout-out about my upcoming talk at SXSW on "The Tech Industry and Cold War Two: Risks, Threats and Opportunities." Here is the description for my upcoming talk about #technology, #geopolitics, and the #economy - "The United States and its allies are in the middle of a Second Cold War with China and Russia, including their allies and proxies. This has significant implications for the global economy, technology businesses, and startups. This presentation will address the biggest risks, threats, and opportunities for the tech industry due to rising geopolitical tensions, with a focus on recent and future tech implications. Topics of this talk will include a discussion of recent and future trade restrictions, supply chain impacts, macroeconomic dislocations, tech investing and fundraising restrictions, financial market impacts, reshoring, government funding, and more." Let me know if you will be at SXSW! #China #Russia #ColdWarTwo
