Stop what you are doing. You cannot pitch investors on a webinar, pitch event, demo day, conference or seminar when you have not established a substantial pre-existing business relationship with the attending investors. It doesn't matter if the sponsors of the event have. You need to do it before you present. It doesn't matter that everyone is doing it. It doesn't matter what you were told by a coach, sponsor, "expert", the internet, promoter, or anyone. If you have never met them before, verified their ability to invest, established a pre-existing business relationship you cannot OFFER or SELL them on your deal. So how do you find investors? Thanks to Elizabeth Blosfield and Carrier Management for the opportunity to give my views on Insurtech challenges and opportunities at InsureTech Connect Vegas. Aside from being able to stand out in a crowded and competitive market and ensuring scalability and data security, another thing that occurred to me throughout those few days at ITC was ‘Market Knowledge’. There is so much focus on the technological capabilities of platforms… the tech is exciting, don’t get me wrong, but it’s only exciting to the insurance community when we apply it to solve market challenges and make lives easier or make processes more efficient! Cool tech is one thing… cool tech addressing relevant market challenge… that’s another!
What are the challenges and opportunities for the #insurtech industry in 2024?
