    It's all about #data these days and there is a dearth of quality & depth in #privatemarkets with only a few leading sources. Thus this acquisition is noteworthy and should make a meaningful addition to BlackRock's #alternatives suite. The statement comments that this "brings together the data, research and investment process for fund managers and investors across fundraising, deal sourcing, portfolio management, accounting and performance".     A clever way to tap retail wealth investors aka high networth individuals and channel that capital. Partners Group has a Growth Equity fund but it mostly manages large and mega cap funds so this arrangement will probably not really solve the fund raising pressures being felt in the mid market and rather perpetuate the shift to the larger funds. Good wealth managers will know though that there are lots of gems to be found in the mid market (greater ability to ‘move the dial’) so will do well to find a way into that segment.
