Founder Andrew Dudum: “Cardiovascular disease may be one of our biggest opportunities yet. While everyone is trying to solve the problem, what’s most exciting to me is that we can leverage what we’ve been doing over the last six years to attack the issue in an interesting way. The Schwartz Fund is on a roll! Three of my "portfolio" companies recently announced funding rounds: First, Gavin Buchanan and the PatchRx team closed their Series A to fuel growth of their smart pill bottle cap solution that leverages data to help drive medication adherence. PatchRx was one of my first investments, and it has been great to watch Gavin and team have such success. https://lnkd.in/erFWPN2P Next, congrats to Ruby Gadelrab Tudor and MDisrupt for completing their Seed Round. As digital health matures, MDisrupt's mission of enabling health tech companies to build, commercialize, and scale responsibly comes at a critical time. Ruby is an awesome founder and tremendous asset to the ecosystem. https://lnkd.in/ei3jDW57 Finally, huge news from Nick Aubin and Commons Clinic team as detailed in another great scoop from Erin Brodwin! Next generation, truly value-based MSK care remains a passion of mine, and Nick and his team get it. Can't wait to see how CC continues to evolve, prove its model, and expand! https://lnkd.in/eQT5Z_Qi Having gotten to know these companies and their founders a bit, I appreciate the hard work it takes to get to this point. Closing a round after riding the rollercoaster that is early-stage startup life is cause for celebration. The best part? I'm confident these companies are just getting started and aren't letting funding round announcements define them or their vision. If I have an investment thesis, it's to find humble, earnest founders working on high level solutions. Having one foot in the clinical world and one foot in the startup/innovation world gives me a unique perspective. I prefer good people solving real problems. I have a sneaking suspicion Schwartz Fund isn't done yet. I anticipate big things from my other portcos. Healent continues to quietly build momentum and experience rapid organic growth while offering a top-notch patient engagement platform. (Anoop Adya and Mike Palackdharry) PrecisionOS was featured on CNN and CNBC recently and is racking up partnerships with teaching institutions and MSK vendors to bring its novel approach to VR surgical training to the masses. (Danny Goel, MD) Ease is refining its "Shopify for Health" approach to support self-employed clinicians at the perfect time. Mario Amaro's drive and passion is infectious. Last, but in no way least, I'm certain Quinn Wang, MD is hard at work building Quadrant Eye (YC W21) into the next generation eye care platform we desperately need. I anticipate big news soon. Congrats to all, and thanks for allowing me to tag along for the ride. #msk #healthcareinnovation #vbc #healthcare #digitalhealth #healthcaretechnology
