We evaluated our support to #SmallButVital charities in the homelessness sector to understand its impact on people and communities. Housing and homelessness charities are a long-standing and significant part of our funding portfolio, and broadly representative of the small charities we support – they are often in the eye of the storm and feel the bluntest effects of austerity. We looked at the impact of our funding, development support and influencing work on people, charities, communities and society. The emerging findings continue to demonstrate the importance of strong relationships, unrestricted funding and building a thriving and resilient population of smaller charities against a backdrop of sustained deterioration in the underlying operating environment.
