Founder of Scoliosis Reduction Center®, A Leading Expert in Chiropractic Care & Conservative Scoliosis Treatment
As a professional working in spine care, I frequently encounter individuals trying to stretch their sciatica pain away. However, the real root of sciatica often lies in the back, not the legs. In this video, I share two exercises that target the root cause without stretching: prone decompression and lateral bridge stabilization. These exercises not only release pressure off the sciatic nerve roots but also build lower back strength. #SciaticaRelief #SpinalHealth #BackPainRecovery #SciaticNerve #LowerBackStrength #PhysicalTherapy #ChiropracticCare #PainManagement #Physiotherapy #Health

You have to REHAB AFTER INJURY if you want to get back to activity. I spend a lot of time talking about tissue tolerance and capacity. And often this is the part when the penny drops for a lot of people on why they get recurrent pain, fail to return to normal activities or re-injure. Rest doesn’t strengthen the body back to pre pain or pre injury levels. When you are in pain, or get injured, the brain will shut down that area of the body, you won’t use it as you normal would, you may limp, or use the opposite hand and subconsciously go up stairs leading with the other leg etc, and this means that the muscles in said area will not be getting the stimulation they are used to and get weaker. If a muscle is weaker, it won’t support the surrounding structures l, it won’t shock absorb and protect and it won’t generate the force and power we are used to often fatiguing much quicker. Meaning pressure on other structures, joints, tendons amongst others. The literature it lettered with different bits of research on muscle wasting post injury, post op or when in pain. And altho there may not be a definitive causative link if you are not as strong or robust as before, to meet the demands of the activities you desire, you are more likely to get pain and injury. Ppl with knee pain experience reductions in quadriceps strength (Adams et al 2012), in abductor strength and external rotation strength at the hip (Ireland 2003), ppl with low back pain experience reduce glut max strength (Wilson 2005). Even just having swelling at the knee (Palmieri-Smith et al 2008) or limping (Bush-Joseph et al 2001) can cause quadriceps inhibition. Flip that around tho, if you become stronger and more robust. You will be able to do more before exceeding your capacity and break down. So when pain has gone, or injury has recovered, remember we need to ridge that gap between pain and return to activity. And that’s often the hard work! #physio #physiotherapy #physiotherapist #rehab #rehabilitation

Computers Have Changed Our Lives It is amazing, isn’t it? Some ways better and some ways not better. One of the way better uses of the computer is surprisingly the way a chiropractor checks and adjusts people’s spines. The old familiar twisting and cracking is being replaced by computer technology. The computer gets its data from a slight tap on the spine with a hand held sensor. It analyzes the spinal segment to find the resonant frequency at which it is vibrating. The goal of the adjustment is to restore proper motion. The computer automatically sets the optimal frequency for the adjustment. The computer is so sophisticated it shuts off automatically to ensure the most accurate adjustment. The way we use our spines repeatedly causes the spine to subluxate. A subluxated spine is technically a “neurological biomechanical pathology.” Chiropractors call it a subluxated spine for short. It weakens the body. It is a progressive degenerative process that needs to be stopped if you want your body to feel better and function higher. This technology is available at Dr. Keenan’s AccuTap Chiropractic 51 West Pleasant Avenue, Maywood,NJ 201 845-0993 Website: drkeenanaccutap.com Video: https://lnkd.in/g_6dHskW Also on Facebook, Instagram, Linked In and Tik Tok

I am glad to share my knowledge, keep sharing, keep growing. Kindly post you doubts in comment section. Thank you all. Dissociation Exercises in Physiotherapy: Dissociation exercises are key in helping patients regain functional movement and improve coordination. These exercises focus on the ability to move one part of the body while keeping another part stable. This is particularly important in rehabilitation, especially for individuals recovering from injuries or surgeries, as it helps in retraining motor control and proper movement patterns. For example, in spinal rehabilitation, dissociation exercises may involve moving the arms or legs independently of the trunk. This improves core stability and enhances control of isolated movements. Patients with back pain, neurological conditions, or post-surgical limitations often benefit from these exercises, which work to re-establish balance, coordination, and joint control. These exercises are also crucial in preventing compensatory movements, which can lead to further injury or dysfunction. By focusing on dissociating movements in different parts of the body, physiotherapists can guide patients in improving their overall functional performance. #Physiotherapy #Rehabilitation #DissociationExercises #CoreStability #MotorControl #MovementPatterns #InjuryRecovery #SpinalRehabilitation #BackPainRelief #JointMobility #FunctionalMovement #MuscleControl #CoordinationTraining #CompensatoryMovements #InjuryPrevention #PostSurgeryRehab #TherapeuticExercises #NeurologicalRehab #BalanceTraining #MovementRetraining #StrengtheningExercises #CoreActivation #PostureCorrection #PhysioTips #ManualTherapy #FunctionalFitness #BodyAwareness #PatientCare #HealthAndWellness #PhysioEducation

At Neuro Physio Berkhamsted we treat a range of conditions, including Spinal Cord Injuries. A spinal cord injury occurs when there is damage to the spinal cord, meaning that the nerves running inside the spinal cord are unable to supply the important messages between the brain and the rest of the body. This can result in a loss of strength, sensation and can also cause issues with muscle tone and balance. This may affect an individuals’ ability to perform normal daily tasks including walking. The injury can cause varying degrees of impairment depending on the location and severity of the damage. Physiotherapy is a crucial component of the rehabilitation process for individuals with spinal cord injuries. We focus on designing personalised exercise programs to help patients regain movement and sensation in the affected areas. This will include specific exercises to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and enhance an individual’s posture and balance. As appropriate, physiotherapy will focus on individual patient goals such as gait training, upper limb rehabilitation, and being able to perform household tasks. Physiotherapy for spinal cord injuries is typically a long-term process. Please get in touch so that we can help you with your rehabilitation goals. https://lnkd.in/ekY8iSHy #neurophysio #berkhamstedphysiotherapist #physiotherapy #spinalcordinjury #movementforall #neurorehabilitation

Physiotherapy can provide significant relief for joint pain by: 1. Improving joint mobility and range of motion 2. Strengthening surrounding muscles for support and stability 3. Enhancing joint alignment and biomechanics 4. Reducing inflammation and pain through manual therapy and exercises 5. Promoting weight management to reduce joint stress 6. Improving posture and body mechanics to minimize joint strain 7. Using modalities like heat, cold, or electrical stimulation for pain relief 8. Educating on proper movement techniques and ergonomics 9. Addressing underlying conditions or biomechanical issues 10. Encouraging regular exercise and physical activity for long-term management Some common physiotherapy techniques for joint pain include: - Joint mobilization and manipulation - Soft tissue techniques like massage or trigger point therapy - Therapeutic exercises for strength, flexibility, and range of motion - Modalities like ultrasound, laser, or electrical stimulation - Taping or bracing for support and stability Remember to consult our qualified physiotherapist to determine the best approach for your specific joint pain needs. www.barathphysio.in #physiotherapistinsalem #bestphysiotherapistinsalem #bestphysiocareinsalem #physiocarenearme #physiotherapistnearme #physiotherapistnearmeinsalem #physiotherapy #physiotherapists #salemphysiotherapy #physiotherapyteachers #healthcare #physicaltherapy #physiotherapytreatment #physiotherapist #physiotherapyclinic #barathphysio #physioinsalem #physiocareinsalem
