From precisely fitting balancing weights to easy-to-fit valves and automotive chemicals, Wegmann Automotive's product are not only designed to be high-quality and reliable, but are also specially designed for making tyre changing “as simple as possible”. First off there’s Type 355 2.0 – known as “The roll for life”. The Hofmann Power Weight adhesive weight roll type 355 2.0 is the workshop swarm among the rolls - less designed to me less searching, less cutting, and a significant time saving. Then there’s the CVV combined rubber-metal valve range (pictured), which is said to “combine the advantages of the simple manual assembly of a rubber valve with the pressure resistance of a metal valve.” And when it's time to disconnect? Thanks to the predetermined breaking point, the valves can be removed effortlessly. The final part of Wegmann Automotive’s “it’s a match campaign” is the company’s mounting paste. We're thrilled that Adam Harrison MInstR has joined the Hawco team as our Technical Applications Manager. We've known Adam for over 20 years, first as Technical Manager at The Alan Nuttall Partnership and more recently at The Bond Group UK, where he was responsible for product development as Refrigeration Technical Manager and most recently Head of Technical.  Adam knows us well too. "I see Hawco very much as a forward-thinking company" he says. "During a 20-year collaboration together, Hawco has far exceeded what I expected. Every time I’ve had a design issue or a component problem, Hawco have always been the first port of call - the guys to speak to. You nearly always came up with a solution." In his new role, Adam will be supporting our OEM refrigeration customers across the UK and in Europe with their R&D. "It's going to be a real eye-opener to work in some new sectors beyond supermarket retail - and visit manufacturers outside the UK. "This is something new, challenging and definitely interesting. It’s exciting times. And I hope it’s exciting times for Hawco as well, having me on board. I think that with the people we’ve got within Hawco, we’ll make a great, strong team." Adam will be using his background in R&D to assist OEMs with component development and push their new products to the next level. This will include advice on best practice implementing new legislation, including the revised F-Gas directive or regulatory changes to gas charges covered by the EU technical standard 60335-2-89-2022. "There are also plenty of opportunities to find new energy savings with components designed for efficiency. With the way energy prices have been over the past 18 months, customers will be keen to look at energy saving components." "We should do something like this again" - this was the feedback from some of our employees who recently took part in the Innovation Day in Iserlohn. They learned about the latest developments that our research and development team has been working on over the last few months and presented at the IAA in Munich. The focus was on alternative drives, open-shell instrument panel carriers and crash management systems made of steel and aluminum. Prof. Christoph Wagener (VP Research & Product Development), Alexander Günther (Product Pre Development Supervisor) and Dominik Tentscher (Advanced Product Development Specialist) presented a number of innovative products and explained their special features. One of these is an instrument panel beam with an open shell design. This has an open half-shell, which makes it very space-saving. For example, cable harnesses and air ducts can be integrated into it. It also requires fewer individual parts and therefore fewer joining operations, which has a cost-saving effect. Customers are increasingly asking for lightweight aluminum solutions for crash management systems to absorb the load in the event of a collision. The innovative crash management system from KIRCHHOFF Automotive offers such a solution - it shows how cost-effective, holistic lightweight construction with high deformation capacity works. #KIRCHHOFFAutomotive #MakingMobilitySafe #innovation
